I know we seem far removed from summer however I can’t help but reflect on a very
powerful two weeks I spent up at Camp Ramah in Wisconsin. I think back to sitting on
a bench overlooking Buckatabon Lake. The sun is setting and if a picture’s really worth
a thousand words then this sunset is worth two thousand. There are several bald eagles
flying above the lake – watching them is majestic. I really love the outdoors. Watching
campers and staff members head towards their evening programs is a treat. Camp is
alive with so many different activities - it is hard to keep track of everything going on.
In addition to teaching and talking with different staff members, I spent much of the
time walking around camp and seeing the life that exists with magnificent Jewish
splendor. There is so much that happens every day. It was wonderful to visit with those
from Beth Shalom, both campers and staff.
I am taken back to my summer days at camp and in the provincial parks of Northern
Ontario where I took campers on canoe trips all throughout the summer. Overnight camp
is an incredible experience and a Jewish overnight camp like Ramah does more than
simply offer one an overnight camp.
Camp Ramah is a unique and special place. In many ways it is just like other
overnight camps; kids have the ability to express themselves and grow and try new
things for the first time in a safe and nurturing environment. However, it differs in so
many ways from other overnight camps in that everything exists in a Jewish framework.
Hebrew is used extensively throughout camp. Kids learn Hebrew and study Jewish texts
and not only do they grow as individuals; they grow Jewishly at Camp Ramah.
I confess that I did not go to Camp Ramah as a kid. I went to another Jewish summer
camp north of Toronto where I returned as a staff member for many years. Being up in
Wisconsin’s Northwoods I could see the difference between what I experienced when I
was younger and what these kids are experiencing today. Jewish education happens in
so many different ways. Sometimes it is in the classroom, sometimes it is on the baseball
field, the high and low ropes course, and sometimes it is in the chadar ochel, the dining
hall. But no matter where it is found, it is found all over Ramah. To see and participate
in a living, thriving Conservative Jewish summer experience is something very special.
Ramah is not just a summer experience. The lessons learned at this Jewish overnight
camp is an education that lasts a lifetime. Jewish skills, Jewish thinking and developing
a Jewish identity are elements that stay with one who has been at Ramah. When many
people today have trouble understanding what the Conservative Movement is all about,
Camp Ramah helps people understand what it means to live and breathe a Conservative
Jewish lifestyle.
As we approach the fall, a time when people will once again register their children
for camp, I hope that you will strongly consider Camp Ramah, or suggest Camp Ramah
to others, as a way of enriching their entire Jewish being.

At my last Cantors Convention in Florida the members were
treated to a lecture by Rabbi Jack Reimer. (Google him). Rabbi
Reimer offered a smorgasbord of insights into congregational life
and that of clergy. His outlook on the role of Rabbis and Cantors
was that each of us need to be more pliable and prepared to, like
Transformers, change into something other than our traditional
role. He sees the clergy role as being multi-dimensional, what
Judaism might refer to as a Kol Bo. Rabbi Reimer joked that
‘every rabbi is a frustrated Hazzan and the shul in which the
Rabbi is the Hazzan, the shul is frustrated’.
Rabbi also emphasized that one needs to remind him/herself
that while he/she gets paid by the congregation, ultimately he/she
works for God. One cannot depend on transitory comments and
whims, likes and dislikes of a particular person, but rather be
secure in their “calling” and know their value to the whole of the
community. As Rabbi Abraham Joshua Heschel once wrote in an
essay entitled “The Vocation of the Cantor”, in his book The
Insecurity of Freedom: “A Cantor who faces the holiness in theArk rather than the curiosity of man will realize that his audienceis God”. (That is where I got the idea for my 2nd music CD
entitled, “An Audience of One”).
As we find ourselves in this period of the Jewish calendar
when we are taking account of our past and participating in what
Jewish tradition calls Cheshbon HaNefesh, an accounting of the
soul, we all have to ask ourselves the hard questions. What is the
work we are doing? For whose benefit are we working (beyond
bringing home a paycheck to pay for the necessities of life)? Have
we lost concentration on the primary goals in our life’s work?
Rabbi Reimer suggests that we must be at times like a
tightrope walker. We must not be distracted by the audience
around us or the final destination, but rather be in the moment,
focused and purposeful.
Rav Nachman was looking to hire someone and inquired of
him several questions. The man looked at the Rabbi and asked,
“For whom do you work”, to which Rav Nachman responded, “I
wish to hire you just so you can ask me this question every week”.
We have to stay focused on the holiness of our lives and the
purpose for our lives. At this time of year we can reboot and
redirect ourselves to sacred things. Maybe Rosh Hashanah and
Yom Kippur have passed but Sukkot is on the doorstep. Build a
Sukkah, dwell in a Sukkah and allow the fragrances and
ambience to calm and delight you. Remember the blessings in
the simplicities of life and in the bounty of life then step forward
into the new year with the aim to please your audience, of One.

As we are currently in the midst of the
holidays, I wanted to highlight a few things
about Sukkot. First of all, there is a drastic
difference between Yom Kippur and Sukkot.
We transition from the most solemn holiday
to one of great joy. We celebrate the harvest in
many various ways and here at CBS, you have
the ability to celebrate the holiday at different
times. There are the traditional services on the
first and second day of the holiday, followed
by celebrations for all to participate in. There is a Sukkah Dinner for
our USYers, the HUGS Sukkot Program, Steak and Eggs in the
Sukkah from the Men’s Club and the congregation wide celebration
on Monday, October 13, Sukkot Night Fever. If you haven’t been
to the last couple Sukkot celebrations, don’t miss this one. It includes
dinner, a program and fun for all. Cap off the holiday week with
Simchat Torah, more celebrating for everyone. Come alone or with
a group, I’ll be looking for you.
Last year I highlighted some of our Executive Board members in
this bulletin and I will do the same again this year. I want the CBS
members to know who the leaders of this congregation are.
Meet your Executive BoardOur Vice-President of Social Action, in her second year, is
Debbie Bell. Debbie grew up at a conservative synagogue in Skokie,
Bnai Emunah, and joined CBS with her
husband Bruce in 1995. They have 2
daughters and have been married 28 years.
Debbie served on our exec board
previously as Sisterhood President, having
risen in their ranks after serving in
numerous positions. Debbie worked in the
advertising business both with Leo Burnett
and as National Advertising Manager for
Budget Rent A Car. In her free time, she likes to garden, read, is a
current events junkie and loves to play canasta and mah jong.
Spending time with friends and family also ranks high on her list.
Debbie has helped co-ordinate our CBS authors for many years and
looks forward to furthering her Jewish education by enrolling in the
Florence Melton School.

For those who didn’t attend Selichot I would like toshare with you what I presented this year.
We are here tonight for Selichot, some came tomeet our new Executive Director, I guess that is me. Icame tonight to meet you and I also came for Selichot.
Selichot are Jewish penitential poems and prayers, especially those said in the period leading up the highholidays. I always found Selichot as a time of year Icall a Life Transition. Transitions to change from whathappened this past year to what will happen in theupcoming year. For some, transitions in life can bevery difficult. In my life I have come to learn to grasp
transitions, I find them inspiring, challenging and mostly tremendousopportunities.
This past year I wrote a book, more a workbook called “Powerful QuestionsTo Help You Move Forward In Your Life”. A book that I came to realize after Iwrote it as a book of understanding yourself while going through a transition. Anew job, a new career, graduation from high school, college or trade school. Atransition of relationships - marriage, divorce, separation. A transition of health, losing weight, conquering a disease. Where ever you are in life you can take yourtransition, place it above the questions in my book and create something reallyspecial for yourself.
A friend purchased my book, looked at me and said this is a sham, half thebook is empty pages. I looked at him and said this is perfect for you, as you aremy friend with ADD and you can read it in about 10-20 minutes. He laughed. Isaid answer the questions truthfully and it could take you a year to complete. Theidea is to be true to yourself, to dig deep and to make the transition you arecurrently dealing with as successful as possible.
On a personal note I wrote this book in memory of my father, Gene Garlin, who will always be my best friend. My dad taught me to create my own life, myown passions, dreams and desires. He said, “Michael, my suggestion is to go outand purchase a really nice pen. There is something about a good pen that gives theconfidence to write something special.” That is what I did in my own transition. All of my transitions, to delve into my life and answer the question “Am I readyto truly make this change?” If you answer YES to making a change, then youshould be on your way. In my book there are 36 questions, double chai, didn’teven realize it until after I wrote it and self-published. I wish I named the book“Double Chai”, but we will stick with Powerful Questions to help you moveforward in your life.
The question on page 124 of my book is one I want to share with all of youtonight.
What are my possibilities? A great question when going through a transitionin your life. This is probably the easiest and toughest question I ask of myself oranyone. Most of us don’t realize what is in front of us. Remember there are trulyno limits to the possibilities you have, and the number of possibilities is enormous. When you realize the possibilities, you truly start living your life.
We have more potential than we can ever develop in our life time. There is nolimit to the possibilities. The unfortunate thing is that sometimes we put up a stopsign, we create rules and roadblocks in our head and ignore these possibilities. Ilearned that we really don’t know what we can do until we try.
My possibilities: I can write a book (check). I can give more of myselfeveryday (check). I can spend more time with my family (check). I can be happier(check). I can take a new job that I resonate with and make it something special(check). I can lead a healthy life by eating the good things in life like veggies andfruit (check). I can dedicate my career to helping others (Check, Check, Check).
Dale Carnegie was once quoted “We all have possibilities we don’t knowabout. We can do things we don’t even dream we can do.”
What are your possibilities? There are many, just start with a few, and manywill follow. No one is stopping you but you. When you finally understand thisconcept, it will be a day of awakening for you.
Shabbat Shalom and enjoy this time of year, as you may find that you havemany possibilities in whatever transition you are facing.

THE FESTIVAL OF SUKKOTThe fall festival of Sukkot, commemorating the protection given the
Jewish people throughout their wanderings in the wilderness, is described inthe Torah as a harvest at the end of the agricultural year (Exodus 23:16).
Concerning the manner of celebrating the seven days of Sukkot, whichbegins on the fifteenth of the month of Tishrei, we read: “You shall dwell inbooths seven days . . . that your generations may know that I made theIsraelites dwell in booths.” (Leviticus 23:42-43).
The eighth day of Sukkot, called Atzeret (closing day of the festivalseason), is regarded as a separate holy day, characterized by the special prayerfor rain (Geshem), by Yizkor services in memory of the departed, and by therecital of the book of Ecclesiastes which contains reflections on the purposeof life and human's ceaseless strivings.
According to Maimonides, the moral lesson derived from the festival ofSukkot is that one should remember his or her bad times in his or her days ofprosperity; he or she will thereby lead a modest life. Therefore, we leave ourelegant homes to dwell in booths that are reminiscent of desert life lackingin all convenience and comfort.
On the other hand, Sukkot is kept in the autumn season when the producehas been gathered in from the fields and farmers are free from pressing labor, when there is neither great heat nor troublesome rain and it is possible todwell in booths, even though they are hastily constructed and unsubstantial.
The four species, of which the lulav (palm branch) is the most prominent, are symbolical expression of our rejoicing over the change from life in thewilderness to life in a country replete with fruit trees and rivers.
These particular four species (lulav, etrog, hadassim, aravot) wereplentiful in Eretz Yisrael, and were easily obtainable by everybody. Besides, they have a good appearance; two of them, the citron (etrog) and myrtle(hadas), diffuse fragrance; they keep fresh and green for seven days. .. (guide,3:43). (Adapted from A Book of Jewish Concepts, by Philip Birnbaum).
The last day of this festival period is Simchat Torah when we rejoice thatwe have concluded the reading of the entire Torah and we begin it anew. Itis a joyous culmination of the entire Holiday Season.

NEWS FROM THE KETER MINYANBy Harold Schwartz
Recently, when I returned to the Minyan after anextended vacation, I was thrilled to see that after eatingbreakfast Cantor Steve led the group in the Birkat HaMazon, blessings after meals. I thought this would be a greatopportunity to discuss this prayer set as it is rarely talkedabout.
Birkat HaMzon is also known as “benching” which isthe English version of the Yiddish word “bentshn” whichmeans to bless. The Birkat is a series of blessings recitedfollowing any meal in which bread has been eaten sinceaccording to Halacha, eating bread officially constitutes ameal. Reciting these blessings is a mitzvah derived from averse in Deuteronomy 8:10, “And you shall eat and besatisfied, and bless Adonai your God for the good landwhich God has given you”.
When three or more people have eaten together a shortback and forth recitation is done called a zimmun; aninvitation to the Birkat. If ten or more have eaten together,God’s name is added to the zimmun. Structurally the Birkatis composed of four blessings. The first, also called thebirkat hamazon, praises God for sustaining life andproviding for all creatures. In a group setting this prayer isoften sung aloud.
The second blessing, birkat haaretz, thanks God forbeing a nourishing and compassionate God, providing uswith food and the Torah. It summarizes Jewish history fromthe Exodus to the conquest of the land. In this blessingadditional prayers are added during Hanukkah, Purim andYom HaAtzmaut.
The third blessing, birkat Yerushalayim, pleads forGod’s continued support of the Jewish people. It is differentfrom the first two blessings which praise God. The fourthand final blessing, birkat hatov V hametiv, emphasizes thepositive manifestations of the relationship between God andthe Jewish people. It ends with, “God will never deny usanything good”.
After the fourth blessing there are a series of shortprayers all beginning with the word “harahaman”, “may thecompassionate One”. Each asks the Almighty for aparticular gift. Different communities have variations to theBirkat, as words are added, removed or changed. The BirkatHaMazon is a lovely communal or private prayer whichunfortunately is often overlooked. How fortunate that ourclergy have decided to add it to our weekday mornings.
KERUV CORNERKERUV: Welcoming Interfaith Families
BOB SPECTOR
Shalom Chaverim,I hope this holiday season is providing you
and your loved ones with spiritual warmth andsupport. Historically, a conservative synagoguehas not been viewed as a supportive home forinterfaith couples/families. Through our KeruvInterfaith Initiative we are changing thatperception at Beth Shalom. The following
question speaks to this challenge:
Dear Dr. Bob,Our son is thinking of joining Beth Shalom. We have been
members for several years (after raising our children in anothercommunity). He is married to a wonderful woman and we adoreher, but she is not Jewish. While she has agreed to raise theirchildren within the Jewish faith, at this time she does not want toconvert as she is very spiritually connected to her religion. She isconcerned that Beth Shalom is ‘too Jewish’ and that she wouldbe treated as an outsider. We are very happy here, but we wouldlike to be members of the same synagogue as our children. Whatcan we tell her to ease her and our concerns?
Dear Concerned Parents,Your question speaks to the heart of our Interfaith Initiative. Your
children will be welcomed with open arms at Beth Shalom. BethShalom’s Keruv Interfaith Initiative Guidelines which can be foundon our website speak to how we will both welcome and encourageyour daughter’s-in-law participation in synagogue life. As for the‘too Jewish’ piece, there is a wide range of Jewish practice at BethShalom and our clergy is committed to making our services relevantto a broader range of our membership. If you would like me to talkto your children, do not hesitate to contact me. Additionally, ourclergy are very approachable and would welcome the opportunityto meet with you and/or your children as well.
Is our Interfaith Initiative relevant to our members? The resultsof our previous survey indicate that 60% of our congregants havea family member or friend involved in an interfaith relationship.
We are planning a Keruv Friday night Shabbat dinner andprogram later this fall (date not finalized) that will be similar tolast year’s Shabbat morning program (panel discussion with BethShalom families). When the program details are complete theywill be posted on the Shalom byte as well as next month’s bulletin. As always, I welcome your constructive comments and feedback.I can be reached confidentially at [email protected]

This is the time of the year when our congregation offers ourthird, fourth, fifth, or sixth graders and their parents an opportunityto participate in S.K.I.P. SEND-A-KID-TO-ISRAEL–PROGRAM is a partnership program that provides a specialsavings plan for future trips to Israel for Chicago area youngsters. For the third year, S.K.I.P. will be funded in an exceptional wayhere at Congregation Beth Shalom. Beginning in any of the gradeslisted above, a family contributes $70 per year, our synagogueunderwrites $100 and JUF funds $85. Thus, each year a total of$255 is placed in a special, interest-bearing account. If your childparticipates for the full seven years (grades 3 through 9), s/he willhave approximately $2000 ($1785 plus interest) saved to help meetthe cost of an Israel trip. SKIP funds can be used after 9th gradeand up to and including age 26 for an Israel Experience program.SKIP funds are fully refundable at any time should your child notparticipate in an Israel program. We are indebted to Delores andEugene Zemsky for their generous support of the SKIP programonce again.
Frequently Asked Questions
When does enrollment begin? Enrollment begins in November with forms and payment due
December 1st of any given year.
How do I register my child? You will receive a letter around November 1st inviting you to
join the partnership. The necessary forms will be included in theletter. You need to complete the forms and send a $70 check, madepayable to Congregation Beth Shalom, by November 30th. We willdo the rest.
What if I forget to sign up in 3rd grade? May I start my childat a later date?
Yes, your may begin participating when your child is in 3rd, 4th,5th, or 6th grade.
If I want to enroll my child who is currently in 4th grade, mayI pay past 9th grade and make up a missing year?
You may begin contributions in grades 3, 4, 5, or 6 but you mayonly contribute through 9th grade.
If my child would like to go to Israel before the completion of9th grade, may I use his/her funds one year earlier?
S.K.I.P.’s goal is for funds to be used for a high school or collegeIsrael Experience program and is designed for high school studentswho have completed their freshman year. Early withdrawal of fundsfor a trip prior to the end of 9th grade is discouraged.
May we use the funds for a family trip to Israel? The partnership program is designed to promote travel with a
peer group. Although the synagogue and JUF support andencourage family trips, these funds are to be used when your childtravels with a group of friends on his or her own young adult trip toIsrael.
What if we move and we join another synagogue in theChicagoland area?
If the synagogue has a S.K.I.P. program, your child’s accountwill be transferred and the partnership continues. Your contributionmost likely will be at least $85 each year with JUF and the newsynagogue continuing its matching funds. Some synagogues do notmatch the full parent contribution but Congregation Beth Shalomnow will contribute more than the suggested amount.
After several years of contributions, my child no longer wantsto travel to Israel. What happens?
You will receive a complete refund of the money you deposited, plus the interest on that money. Congregation Beth Shalom’sportion is returned to the synagogue.
An important word about theBirthright program ……
Birthright is a wonderful program but the greatest challenge isgetting a space on a trip - not everyone is guaranteed a space on aBirthright trip. Your child’s S.K.I.P. monies (and Gift of Israelfunds) ensure that s/he will be able to go to Israel at least once, ifnot more than once, even if Birthright Israel is not an option.S.K.I.P. funds may be used for a vast range of longer, in-depthprograms of your choice, and may be used any time after a studentcompletes ninth grade. Thus S.K.I.P. enrollees have a greater choiceof programs.
There will be more information about S.K.I.P. in future bulletinsand, of course, a letter of invitation to the program will be mailedin November. However, please feel free to contact Faye Tatelthrough the synagogue or religious school office for furtherinformation.

Their parents or grandparents have completed the necessaryannual financial contributions to SKIP, and they now areeligible to use the funds to help pay for an Israel program oftheir choice. With the help of our own Congregation BethShalom and the Jewish Federation of Chicago, which havematched the parents’ annual pledge, each student hasapproximately $1800 saved to meet the cost of a trip to Israel.Participants may use SKIP funds through age 26. Our thanks toDelores and Eugene Zemsky who sponsor the David L. ZemskySKIP Fund that helps to financially supports this wonderfulopportunity for our young people.

It becomes increasingly clear to me that the more Jewish touch-points families have, the more powerful their Jewish identitybecomes. Here, I want to talk about three kinds of community: inreligious service, in our classrooms and as families on Shabbat.Judaism guides us in making the world a better place, createsopportunities for sharing, and grounds our search for meaning inlearning and experience that goes back thousands of years. Weconnect with God, Israel and each other. But we only get out of itwhat we put into it.
***Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur have come and gone, and I must
say that the more opportunities I have to work with Naomi Weiss, our Ritual Director, the more I appreciate her energy and love ofJudaism. We led the Family High Holiday services together, and itwas just a joy. The energy in the room was infectious. The songs, prayers, stories and Torah service resonated with participants of allages. I look forward to working with her in a number of spheres inthe coming year.
***We have four new teachers this year. Amy Newman comes to us
with a Master’s Degree in Elementary Education… and a pair of 15month old twins. As I am a twin, I feel it is an honest question towonder if teaching 13 fourth graders will actually provide respitefrom double-time motherhood. Sarah Kaufman is our new thirdgrade teacher. She comes by her Hebrew and Jewish skills masteryvia her studies at Solomon Schechter Day School and theChicagoland Jewish High School. She is new to teaching, but herenergy and commitment are in full force and she is partnering withtwo very experienced Aleph instructors. Also joining our faculty isJeremy Raskin. Jeremy has a wide spectrum of educational tools, ranging from Jewish music to Jewish history. He will be workingwith our seventh grade students. Rosalie Novick rounds out our newcadre of educators. She has much experience in Jewish education, and she’s substitute taught here on numerous occasions. I amimpressed with her skills, and students report likingher a lot – the perfect combination. She will beteaching our fifth and third graders.
***Beth Shalom offers two different Shabbat
morning opportunities for families to gather andcelebrate being Jewish. Family Shabbat is gearedmore towards families with younger children, sayK-3rd. The prayers are songs, the Torah reading isread and combined with translation phrase by phase, most often we have a play (really a dramaticreading) that parents volunteer to help with. Guitarsand rhythm instruments are part of the experienceas well. Shehecheyanu Shabbat is geared more forfamilies with older children, 3rd – 6th. Moreexperiential (time in the meditation garden was funlast year); we look more closely at the prayers buttry to maintain the rhythm of the service as well.Guitars and Torah reading pretty much the same.Coffee and cocoa and nosh served, dress is casual.
I look forward to seeing you here at Beth Shalom.

As Rosh Hashanah passes and Yom Kippur arrives, it is timefor us to think about how we can do better in our lives. For me, Ithink about doing better with my friends and family, but I alsothink about what we can do to make our youth program a betterplace in the coming year. My job is to provide programming thatappeals to every youth in our community, and I would love to hearfrom parents and children about programming they would like tosee this coming year. I will do everything in my power to makesure our synagogue is a home for our youth, where they knowthey can come and have a great time.
Rosh Hashanah is also a time to reach out and say thank you.During High Holiday ticket pick-up, we had numerous ways tohelp support our USY chapter’s Tikkun Olam fund. For those ofyou who bought honey jars, paid for a car wash, paid “not” tohave your car washed and just gave donations; our entire CBSUSY board thanks you. At the end of our school year, our boardhas the privilege to choose from different charities to allocate allthe funds raised during the year. We are looking forward tobringing more fundraisers to the synagogue this coming year.
Programming wise, our weekly lounge nights began for highschoolers, and we held our first youth lounge open house. I amlooking forward to kicking October off with our first 8th gradeonly program. We will be going to Pinstripes on October 5th fortwo hours of bowling and appetizers. We will also be bringingyou ice cream at the ice cream social following Simchat Torahservices. Please stay tuned for more upcoming programs, and Ilook forward to another successful year in the youth department.

SISTERHOOD BOOK REVIEWWEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 29, 2014
A GUIDE FOR THE PERPLEXED:A NOVEL BY DARA HORN
The Sisterhood’s first Book Review selection is A Guide forthe Perplexed: A Novel by Dara Horn, an astonishing storytellerwho has woven an engrossing and multi-layered tapestry ofadventure intertwining the story of Jacob, medieval philosophyand the digital frontier.
Software prodigy Josie Ashkenazi has invented a computerapplication that records everything its users do. When the Libraryof Alexandria invites her to visit as a consultant, her jealous sisterJudith urges her to go. Amid Egypt’s post-revolutionary chaos,Josie is abducted---leaving Judith free to take over her life athome.
A century earlier, another traveler arrives in Egypt: SolomonSchechter, a Cambridge profession who is hunting for a medievalarchive hidden in a Cairo synagogue. Both he and Josie arehaunted by the work of medieval philosopher Moses Maimonides,a doctor and rationalist who sought to reconcile faith and science, destiny and free will. But what Schechter finds, will reveal thepower and perils of what Josie’s ingenious work brings into being:a world where nothing is ever forgotten.
This is a novel of profound inner meaning and astonishingimagination. Plan to join us on Wednesday, Oct. 29th at 7:30p.m. for our discussion.

Celebrate with Trees
Remember the Jewish National Fund treesyou bought growing up, well they are stillavailable. Buying a tree is great way tohonor someone for a life cycle event andinvest in Israel at the same time.
And if that isn’t enough, each tree comes with a beautiful, personalized certificate. For more information or to order your treescontact Barbara Klein at the synagogue (847.498.5352 [email protected]). Trees cost $10 apiece.
