Think of the word ‘winter’, and the word that automatically comes to mind is ‘Christmas and New Year’. But students!!!….one thing that should remain constant even during winter vacations is reading and learning which you do at school. Enjoy your winter vacations!!! Play, sleep, travel to new places but study and learn at the same time…. Keeping this in mind we have lined up a few tasks for you, which are simple and educative. Last date of submission: 19th January, 2015. Task 1: Select a storybook and read it with your parents during the vacation. Write a book review (on an A4 Pastel sheet) according to the guidelines given below. Present it in a creative manner. 1. The name of the book and the author. 2. Write about the main characters (protagonist and antagonist). 3. Who was your favourite character and why? 4. What is the moral of the story? 5. What is your favourite part of the story? 6. Did you learn something from the book? 7. Would you like to read it again? 8. Give the conclusion to the review. It can be one sentence.

10. Make/draw a scene from the story Task 2: Take a lined 40 page notebook. Practice good and neat handwriting (You can use the storybook selected for Task 1 as your reference text). You should write one page for each day of your holidays. Put the date on each page. Submit to your class teacher after the vacations. Task 3: Learn a new word every day (You can use the storybook selected for Task 1 as your reference text). Find its meaning and make a sentence with it and make flashcards for each word. Join them to make a wall hanging. Task 4: Learn tables from 2 to 20. Practice mental math. We will have a competition when the school reopens. Task 5: Select a Science experiment, prepare to present it and write the process and science behind it on an A4 pastel sheet. We will have a Science in Daily Life competition very soon. Task 6: Complete the English worksheet attached. Task 7: Complete the Math worksheet attached. Cut a cardboard sheet measuring 2X2 inches. Taking soft clay or M-seal, design patterns such as flowers,
animals etc. and paste them on the cardboard let it dry. Colour it nicely. Your seal is ready for use.
