eSchoolPLUS & Tardy Calculator

Rodney Whiteand John Crumbley care
working with Mark Gabehart, CTO for
Round Rock ISD and fellow
PowerSchool eSchoolPLUS customer,
to develop an interface between
eSchoolPLUS and Tardy Calculator, a
leading force in recording student
tardys and returning the student back to
the classroom more quickly.
This is a revolutionary concept. If this
integration can be fully developed and
implemented, it will transform the way
CFISD records the tardy events for
students, yielding less time away from
class as well as time savings for the
attendance clerks .

Thank You Renee for
everything you do to make
CFISD a better place!
I wanted to say how much I appreciated Rene’s
help this week with staff name changes in the
TSDS system. Due to position changes in our
area and summer personnel budgeting
processes, completion of our part was
backlogged. Rene worked diligently with an
amazing attitude to make the changes in a
timely manner.
The customer service was outstanding.

On Tuesday, October 24, 2017,
Eric May, Mark Flores and Kala
Holler met with PowerSchool for our
bi-monthly TEAM meeting. Kala
and her staff posted last month but
were required to hand correct over
3000 error. One fix from TRS was
the increase in rounding. This
issues because CFAIR is so large.
Thank you TRS for supporting
CFISD through this process !
Friday October 27, 2017 the
updates to correct the errors will be
installed.

A day in the life of an ISA’er at Cy-Fair ISD• Mastering the Art and Science of Enterprise Application (EA)
(Architecture) Development - The EA must be able to share across
enterprise departmental user groups to support and to improve the
productivity of the enterprise's business processes. The EA must be built
with current technologies and trends, and flexible to adopt & adapt new
technologies and trends. Simply put, the EA must work seamlessly and
beautifully! Implementing best practices of technologies and trends. So
what are the challenges of building such beautiful EA?

Dava Clark, Programmer/AnalystPosted by October 27, 2017
Dava Clark and Lisa Nevins met to discuss a new Laserfiche project. Currently, all Personnel
Budgeting information is stored either on paper in cabinets, or in excel documents on Lisa’s
computer.
We will create a new folder structure, and a new Personnel Budget template in Laserfiche to
house these documents.
This will save time spent searching through documents for information from previous years, and
save cabinet space in the Human Resource office!
Data Analytics and Student Success

Donna Van Hooser, Senior Programmer/AnalystPosted by October 27, 2017
This week Senior Research Specialist Dr. Christina
Arroyo-Giner met with Donna Van Hooser to discuss
changes to the Education Resource Group (ERG)
process. CFISD began using the ERG Analytics system
at the beginning of the 2016-2017 school year. District
and campus personnel were very excited at the
additional level of insight that is gained by using ERG.
District Performance Monitoring (DPM) test data for 1st
through 12th grades and STAAR data are loaded into
ERG’s system. Student progress is easily tracked and
performance strengths and difficulties are easily
pinpointed through charts and graphs. Campuses are
then able to individualize instruction and help students
be successful.

PGP (Personal Graduation Plan) intervention maintenance
system is used by school academic achievement specialists
(AAS) to create interventions for students
and the PGP Attendance system is used to enter
attendance for each student from the attendance they take
during the sessions.
AAS teachers used to hand key the dates for
each student for each intervention which took a lot of
time. We had some brain storming sessions with Dr. Christy
Dafonte and AAS teachers to simplify the system for them.
We combined both the programs and integrated
the attendance program into the maintenance program.
Now the AAS teachers don’t have to hand key each date
instead they can just upload the information directly
that they already have into the system .This will also be
reflected in the eSchoolPLUS intervention information which
also can be used to generate any report required.

This week I reflect on mentoring.
We all have had a mentor in our life at some
point. Someone that takes the time to coach,
advise and motivate you. We all need a
mentor, so pass it down and look for
someone to mentor.
You can make a difference in their life.
