Carpet weaving is an ancient Indian tradition, with the industry flourishing in the country 16th century onwards. Today, India is the world's largest producer and exporter of handmade carpets in terms of value and volume. Around 75–85 per cent of carpets manufactured in India are exported. Indian carpets are known worldwide for their excellent design, fascinating colors and quality.
KEY MARKETS AND EXPORT DESTINATIONS
Exports of handmade carpets and other floor coverings from India stood at US$ 558.14 million in April-July 2017as compared to US$ 570.17million in April-July 2016. India is responsible for around 40 per cent of worldwide export of handmade carpets. Indian handmade carpets are exported to 73 countries in the world, the US being the largest importer.

The Carpet Export Promotion Council (CEPC) is the apex body of exporters of hand-made carpets and other floor coverings in India. •The company is managed by professionals at Key managerial positions possessing experience of more than two decades in the textile industry.
•The proposed planned unit is located in Industrial development centers of Gujarat and has access to water, power and skilled labour.
•The Company has acquired land for the project and awarded the Consulting services to M/s Tata Consulting Engineers Ltd., a reputed company of the Tata Group.
