Staring through the window watching a blizzard my thoughts turn toward my most recent trip to the amazing country of Guatemala.! Though certainly a land of great spiritual need and poverty, in many ways as I picture it in my mind—a perfect place.! It"s warm, friendly people and cool temperate weather, in addition to its beautiful volcanic scenery add to its appeal.! Not to mention it"s only a few short hours flight from many parts of the US.! Most importantly, we found a people very receptive to the Gospel message.! This has lead MANNA to an abundance of opportunities to reach children and their families with the love of Christ and make it easy to connect our army of volunteers who are truly the ones who put MANNA"s mission into movement.
Currently we are working in the communities of Sumpango, Ciudad Quetzal and La Gomera with missionaries Jerry and Mindy Kinman and team member Karen Kolb, and in the community of Sololá with missionary Larry Boggs.! They are effectively using MANNA nutrition centers to impact their community and propel their local churches.!
God has dropped an amazing blessing into our lap by providing an opportunity to develop a base of operations to host our volunteers.! This blessing is what we are calling Casa de MANNA, a beautiful ranch style guest house in
Guatemala City"s foothills with sweeping views of the city below.! We have spent the last two months remodeling and upgrading its facilities

to accommodate volunteer groups of all sizes.! The large property is very secure with two gated entrances and other safety measures in place.! Each of the rooms will sleep four to six people and each will have an in-suite bathroom.! The rest of the house is a huge common area consisting of a finely finished kitchen as well as comfortable eating and sitting areas.! The entire space opens up to the outside porch which runs the length of the building.! I suspect many a cup of coffee will be shared out there with group members discussing the children encountered on that particular day.!!!
The work is coming along and just this past week I had opportunity to take a few good men to help with the work.! They did an amazing job and we all left with sore backs and burdened hearts for the sweet children we ministered to.The purpose of Casa de MANNA is not only to provide a base of operations to our volunteers but also will be used to perpetually fund MANNA centers in the future.!Once the house is paid for, all proceeds will go toward rescuing more children in Guatemala and around the world by opening up additional centers and projects. Pray about God using YOU in Guatemala!
