recruiting
I am
happy
that my
responsibilities in recruiting and traveling
have increased. I sure
thank the
Lord
for
Sonja doing
the secretarial
work
at the
Bethel
Missouri office. She sure helps me a lot.
A man that I met at Pampa Texas is
seriously thinking about recruiting full-time
with Outreach In te rna tiona l We are still
helping
him
look into that possibility. He
would sure be a
great asset
We are in the process of helping a
missionary
that
is from Pampa Texas. We are
hoping
to be able to
help him
get
set

more than he is able to right now We help a

We
are s iar iers

God
has called them
to do. In our board meeting at the Missionary

We thank the lord for beingable to help.

YOU HAVE

and
Lincoln
Christian
College
are two
places that
I
had
the privilege
of sharing at in a formal setting
as
well
as
talking to
students
one
on
one. These college
age
people are
some
of our
biggest
potential recruits.
It worked out real good
because
St.
Louis is
on
the
way to Lincoln
Christian
College where I spent
the
week
attending
the Week of
World
Wide W itn es s. 1
was
happy to be a
part of th e
mission emphasis week. I
shared at a workshop and had
a
booth and talked
to people
about the
opportunities
tha t we
have for serving
overseas.
We have
wri t ten ove r
a
hundred of the s tud en ts that
have
made
commitments to do
some work overseas after they
get
out of school. It was a
profitable time
that was spent
with missionary friends
and
s tudent .
on my way
back
I spent
the w eek end
with
Chet and
Bev
Shaw.
Some
good friends
from my highschool days in
Texas.
Chet
used
to
help
lead
our
youth group. I
had
the
privilege of sharing at
the
church where they
attend
there in Joplin. While I was
there
1
was
a lso abl e
to talk to
a couple of our recruits. Clint
leigh who is planning to join
our team there at the
university in France.
We are
excited about sending
these
new recruits
to help
the team
that
is already
there.
Pau l Deluca from my
home church
here
in town is
leaving
the
10th for Bangkok
Thailand to
teach
English and
help work in the prison ministry
there.
Tim Borson
who
is
also from my home
church
here
is
making
plans to
be a
missionary
pilot.
Praise God
that He has used me to
help
these
men see the need and
opportunity of missions.
F i n a n c e s
I have
applied
and
was
excepted
for a medical
insurance
plan cal led
Texas
Health Risk Pool.
It
is
designed for transplant
patients
and
very high risk
people who
cannot get
insurance other
places. My
doctors
highly
recommended
me to get this. It covers all
medical
conditions
whether or
not
it
is r ela te d to CP.
I have
had
this
insurance for a couple of
months now and am needing
an
extra
200 per month
to
continue paying for it. I could
really
use another
100 a
month for living etc. Any help
in this way would
be
greatly
appreciated.
My total personal
income for the
year
2000
was
11 500.
Some of that
was
used
fo r
mission work such as:
Office supplies mailings etc.
If you

NEW
OPPORTUNITIES
China: There are teaching contracts available at various schools in Shunde, Panyu, Harbin
and Shuifenhe (a bordering city to
Russia)
in China.
These
are large
cities
anywhere
from
I
million
to 3
million
people. Each
city needs
teachers
for a
variety
of age
groups
including
kindergarten, primary and middle schools. No degree is
needed
to teach kindergarten or
primary school, however a degree
in English
is
needed
to
teach
middle
school Teachers will
live with
bothforeign andChinese teachers andit
will not be
aproblem iffriends/family want to
visit
them. It
would
be noproblemfor the
teacher
tohave children, since
there
isno limitation of
family
size.
Teachers
would
teach approximately 24
hours
a week andwould have
1-2
year
contract. Wages are paid in
Chinese Yuan (3,000-5,000),
plus room and board is provided.
When we
werefirst
contacted about
this
opportunity,
we
were told
that there was a
need
for 24
teachers.
They would
like
to have the
teachers
arrive in
August
as
school begins September
1st. 1 knowthis is short notice, but thereJust might be someoneout there who is waitingfor
such a great opportunity. Pray that
the
Lord will
raise up laborers
for
his
harvest
fields. We
already
have
several
inquiries
on
this opportunity
that
we
are
following
up on).
West
Africa: We have been asked to consider a family and their co-workerswhowould like to
come
under the
umbrella
of Outreach International as
they
continue the
work
theLordhas
given
them
in
West
Africa. They
will
be meeting with
us
in the
next week
or two of
this writing.
Please pray that this transition will serve tofurther His Kingdom in a mighty way aswe seek
to
serve these
experienced
missionaries.
Pray that their transition will beas
problem
free as
possible.
New Recruits: We have recently had several requestsfor informationfrom college students
and
young
couples looking at thepossibilities and
opportunities
to
serve
in
student ministries
and/or
teaching English
as a
Second Language.
Please
prayfor theLord s
leading
in
these
lives as
they

The
operating
philosophy of
Outreach
International
since its beginning
in 1977, isbased on
the fact that all mankind deserve the chance to hear about the savinggrace ofJesus Christ
and that it is
each
Christian's responsibility to do all we can to reach the world with the
Good News of Salvation found in Jesus Christ Therefore Outreach International has
acted as starters for those new to worldwide missions and has helped start, by the grace
ofGod, several new missions across the world.

As most of you
already know, my dad, AI,
has been working in
southern
Sudan since the
last
week o f October. H e
is working with a mission
organization c lled The
Voice
of The
Martyrs.
H e
and
a
man named
Mike Smith, are the only
Americans over there
in
that area at this time.
Mike is managinga hospi
tal while dad is teaching
and training local Chris
tians for future
work.
Dad and
Mike
have both committed one
year of volunteer service.
They are hoping to be
able to train and disciple
the local people to take
over a
lo t o f the work in
the hospital and in
preaching and teaching
the
Word
o f
God.
T he area is
safe
but the situation can be
dangerous when traveling.
There are several refugee
camps in the area that
need
the
obvious
kind o f
help. There are also
about 40 churches that
are in this
free
area that
need teaching and train
ing. Dad is working with
th e leaders o f these
churches. The people all
over
the
area are com

in need of clothing, medi

food.
