I wanted to give you an insight into the impact you can have on other people in the way that you give them a gift…



The insight into this came from some research published in 2002 in the journal of AppliedPsychology by Strohmetz.



They wanted to look at different ways of giving the same gift to people and then measuring if these different ways produced a different effect in the recipient of the gift.



#1: The gift needed to be personalizedIt needed to feel like it was being given specifically to that person and not just a generic gift that was given

around to everyone.



#2: The gift needed to be significantThis means it needed to feel like it had some significance for the person.Significance in this cases doesn’t mean, expensive, or rare.



#3: The gift is better if its unexpectedWhen the gift was

unexpected it increased the impact

that it had on the person receiving it.
