l TheNGOsseekingfinancialassistancefromMAEFshouldberegisteredwithMAEF.TheRegistrationFormisavailableonthewebsiteofMAEF,i.e.www.maef.nic.in.NGOscanapplyforregistrationonprescribedformat.NGOscanalsoapplyonline&submithardcopyinduecourse.
l If the documents are in regional languages then the same would be submitted along withnotarizedEnglish/Hindiversion.InadditiontoallthedocumentsattachedtotheproposalshouldbecertifiedbytheauthorizedsignatoryoftheNGOs.
l MAEFsanctionsgrant-in-aidstrictlyaccording to theprescribedceiling limitsofMAEFandatpresentthemaximumceilinglimitoffinancialassistanceis30.00lakhonly.
l AllactivitiesbeingcarriedoutbytheNGOsshouldbereflectedclearlyintheAuditReport.Theassets(land/building)ownedbytheNGOsshouldalsobereflectedintheBalanceSheets.
l ThemembersbelongingtoonefamilyintheManagingCommitteeoftheNGOsshouldnotbemorethan25to30%.
l Theinstitutions(School,CollegeorTechnicalInstitutes)forwhoseconstruction/expansiontheassistanceisrequiredshouldbeinexistenceandrecognized/affiliatedtotheconcernedState/Central Board/Council/University. The Institutions running as study centres of NIOS, OpenUniversities,NCPULwillnotbeeligibleforgrants.
l NGOsshouldbehavingatleasthalfacreland,iftheprojectforwhichassistanceisrequiredislocatedinruralareasoratleast500sq.yardsland,iftheprojectforwhichassistanceisrequired,is located in urban/semi urban areas by virtue of registered SaleDeed/Gift-Deed/Exchange-DeedorAllotmentOrder.AlternativelyitshouldhaveprescribedlandonLeasefornotlessthan30yearsandLease-deedshouldberegistered.IfthelandisinthenameofPresident/Secretary/ManageroranyotherofficebearerofNGOsor if the land isnot transferred in thenameofNGOs/Institution,thenitwillnotbeaccepted.Themeasurementoftheavailable/proposedland/areashouldbeprovidedinacres/sq.yards.
l Site-plan for the proposed construction should be properly approved. Certified copy of theWorkCommencementOrder/Letterapprovingsite-planisalsomustiftheprojectislocatedinurban/semi-urbanareaandtheconditionscoveringapprovalofsite-planarenotmentionedonthesite-planitself.Asregardsruralareas,thelandshouldbenon-agriculturallandandproperdocumentaryproofforthelandbeingnon-agriculturallandandNOCforconstructionfromtheGramPanchayatwillberequiredalongwithapprovalonsite-plan.
