The “2014 Emerging Market Automobile Safety Conference” is being organised by the Global New
Car Assessment Programme (GNCAP) in association with the Institute of Road Traffic Education
(IRTE) to be held at the College of Road Traffic Management, Faridabad in the NCR Delhi on Friday
31st January, 2014.
The Conference will examine the importance of motor vehicle safety as required under the United
Nations Decade of Action for Road Safety 2011-2020. The event will include a special focus on
automobile safety in India and feature the release of crash test results of some popular and
important small cars. The Conference will also explore how regulatory standards in combination
with consumer information and incentives can create a market for safer vehicles in the rapidly
motorising nations of the emerging world. The deliberations will also explore the progress from
improved crashworthiness to crash avoidance.
