What happens when a man and a wo-man share a common passion? They fall in love. And this is what happens to Jean-René, the boss of a small chocolate factory, and Angélique, a gifted chocolate maker he has just hired. What occurs when a highly emotional man meets a highly emotional woman? They fall in love, and this is what
occurs to Jean-René and Angélique who share the same handicap. But being pathologically timid does not make things easy for them. So whether they will manage to get together, join their solitudes and live happily ever after is a guessing matter.

OfficialOpeningof«LaMaisondel’Alliance»
The new premises of the Alliance was officially opened on April 19 after the original building was da-maged during the Christchurch earthquakes of 2010 and 2011.The building, now named ‘La Mai-son de l’Alliance’ is set to be the ‘go to’ place for French culture in the city.More than sixty guests attended the official opening ceremony, with the Ambassor of France HE Francis Etienne as special guest.Attendees also included Council-lor Sue Wells, Délégué Général des Alliances Française en Nouvelle Zélande et aux îles Cook Jean-Marc Depierre, and the president of l’Alliance Française de Christ-church Martine Marshall-Durieux.Mrs Marshall-Durieux ope-ned the evening with a warm welcome followed by a speech by Jean-Marc Depierre.Ambassador H.E.M Francis Etienne pointed out the strength
of the citizens of Christchurch and of the Alliance Française team after the earthquakes du-ring his speech, saying how each and every one had risen again despite the traumatic events.
“It’s a nice symbol to have a house. It’s not only a tool to teach French, but it’s also a place to experience the French Culture.” he said.
The Ambassador then offered a medal as a gesture of thanks. Em-bellished with the French symbol “La Semeuse” (The Sower), - the medal signified ‘sowing seeds’ for the future of the culture in the city.
‘The opening of La Maison de l’Al-liance is the culmination of two years of hard work and perseve-
rance of a united team committed to providing a meeting place and exchange for the local community.’
City Councillor Sue Wells, who more than a decade ago won the
French Oral Contest, said she wanted to see “young French men and women coming here, working here - sharing their loads with us in Christchurch”.
A blue, white and red ribbon was cut by the H.E.M Francis Etienne to signify the opening of the building.
