Singing is good for yourhealth. This is due todeeper breathing giving the

diaphragm a good work-out. Singing also helps theimmune system. Evidentlyantibody production goesup when we sing. Perhapsit’s because we are hav-ing a good time. It’s alsogood from a social pointof view. Being part of achoir is working together toproduce a beautiful ensem-ble sound. Very exhilarat-ing!

Law, Ida EmilyIt is with great sadness the family

announces the passing of Ida Emily Law,83, at Fairvern Nursing Home on GoodFriday, March 21, 2008.

Ida was born on Nov. 25, 1924 in St.Patrick’s, Quebec, a daughter to AlbertStevenson and Lillian Stevenson (neeMann) and moved to Huntsville as a youngwoman. She married Bruce A. Law, whosurvives her, in Huntsville where they madetheir home.

Mrs. Law is survived by their son, BruceA.A. Law and wife Ronna and those shewas grandmother to, Richard and Erica, allof Huntsville, sister Harriette Robinson and her family ofSt. Jerome, Quebec and brother Ernest Stevenson, his wifePhyllis, and their family of St. Patrick’s, Quebec.

Ida Law is also survived by brother-in-law Arley Law,sisters-in-law Joyce Law, Audrey Earl, Annie Stevenson

and their families, all of Huntsville.Mrs. Law is predeceased by brother

Thomas Stevenson (Katrine, Ontario),brothers-in-law Vern Robinson (St. Jerome,PQ) and George Law (Huntsville, Ontario).

Miss Ida, as she became known, foundincredible joy in loving and caring for herfamily.

She extended her heart and hands toall, continuously reaching out to anyone inneed. Her love of life was evident in thepassion she had for music. She played theviolin and piano.

Miss Ida’s warmth, her bright smile andsense of humour will be greatly missed.

A private celebration of Ida’s life was held at MitchellFuneral Home on March 26 with Archdeacon DawnHenderson officiating. Interment will take place atHutcheson Memorial Cemetery.

Seaton, Donald L.The death occurred of Donald L. Seaton,

77, on March 31, 2008 at Huntsville DistrictMemorial Hospital.

The deceased was born on Jan. 18, 1931in Toronto, the son of Clifford and HelenSeaton (Taylor).

He married Anne L. Seaton (Duggan) onOct. 25, 1986 in Scarborough, Ontario.

His wife resides in Huntsville.Mr. Seaton is survived by his sons and

daughters, Ric (Cheryl) Gutjahr, Jayne(Keith) Smiley, Scott (Rosemary) Seaton,Laurel (Jim) Rogers. Stepfather of MichaelDuggan, Stephen (Jennifer) Duggan, Jeff(Donna) Duggan, Tim Duggan, Rob (Laudette) Duggan,and Lynda (Tom) Smith. Loving Poppa of Lisa, Rick, Kerri,David, Lynn, David, Angela, Jennifer, Laura, Andrea,Christine, Alexander, Jonathon, Shelby, Austin, Jamie andAlysha.

Great-grandfather of Elliot, Aidric,Nathan and Rebekah, and many nieces andnephews.

Also survived by sisters Gwen (Logan)Jenkins, and Arlene (Jim) Goyea.Predeceased by Marilyn Swann. Mr. Seatonwas an employee of Consumers Gas for 40years. He retired to Muskoka in 1988.

Funeral service was conducted byReverend Dawn Henderson at BillingsleyFuneral Home on Thursday, April 3, 2008.Cremation has taken place, interment tofollow.

Don was a remarkable man, treasuredand adored by his family, thoughtful and kind to everyonehe met. He shared his superior intelligence with all.

He was a wonderful teacher, though not by profession.He is sorely missed by all.

Langford, MarlayThe death occurred of Marlay

Langford, 87, in Huntsville on April 18,2008.

The deceased was born in Wales onNov. 15, 1920.

His wife Margaret resides inHuntsville. Mr. Langford is survived by onedaughter, Sonia (David) of Huntsville.

He bowled every Tuesday with theHuntsville Seniors and Club 55. Mr. Langfordretired before moving to Huntsville andenjoyed his retirement.

Funeral service was conducted byReverend Dawn Henderson of All Saints’Anglican Church at Billingsley FuneralHome on April 20, 2008.

Cornwell, GeorgeThe death occurred of George

Cornwell, 70, on April 12, 2008 inHuntsville, Ontario.

The deceased was born in Toronto onOct. 4, 1937, the son of the late Sydneyand Edna (Jordan) Cornwell.

He married Blanche (Conron) on July24, 1975 in Kitchener, Ontario. His wiferesides in Huntsville.

Mr. Cornwell is survived by one son andtwo daughters, Susan and Charles Switzerof Orillia, Ginny and Patrick Kingston ofWinnipeg, Manitoba, and Jeff and Danielle

Underdown of Sudbury, Ontario.Predeceased by his sister Doreen

Auston and son Kirby.Also survived by Joan Smith of Bewdley,

Ontario, Syd of Huntsville, Fred and Gloriaof Burk’s Falls, Dianne and Bob Smith ofNorth Bay, Sharon Swain of Toronto, Joe ofToronto, Helen of Halifax and many grand-children and great-grandchildren.

Mr. Cornwell was retired.At his request there will be no funeral.

A celebration of life has taken place atBillingsley Funeral Home.

McMullen, Brian ‘Mick’The death occurred of Brian “Mick”

McMullen, 60, on April 13, 2008 atHuntsville District Memorial Hospital.

The deceased was born on Dec. 13,1947. He married Sally McMullen ofHuntsville on July 13, 1972 in Bracebridge.

Mr. McMullen is survived by one sonand one daughter, Shawn (Tamar)McMullen and Alison McMullen. Also sur-vived by his mother, Isabelle McMullen,sisters Sharon (Mervin) Aitheson, KathyHealy, Helen Guibeault, Rosanne

McMullen, nieces and nephews.Predeceased by his father, Joe McMullen,and brother Steven McMullen.

Mr. McMullen was a truck driver.A memorial service was conducted on

April 16, 2008 at Billingsley Funeral Home.

The death occurred ofMarcella Jean McKay, in her 95thyear on April 9, 2008 at SouthMuskoka Memorial Hospital inBracebridge.

Mrs. McKay was born on July29, 1913 in Dorset, the daughterof Hiram and Hattie (Remey)Barry.

She married Hector N. McKayon Jan. 7, 1933 in Bracebridge,Ontario. Her husband prede-ceased her.

Mrs. McKay is survived byone son and two daughters, Earl(Marilyn) of Brighton, Janet

(Darcy) Roberts of Huntsville, andSusan (Terry) Brady of Toronto.

Also survived by granddaugh-ters Wanda and Darlene Sawyer,Heather and Lianne McKay,great-grandsons Blair and MoryFord, step-granddaughterJennifer (Brady) Parfitt, great-granddaughters Isabella(Murray) McKay, Blair and KoryFord, step-great-grandchildrenFiona and Alex Parfitt.

Mrs. McKay was a homemak-er and piano teacher, and a mem-ber of Knox United Church.

Funeral service will be con-ducted by Reverend JolynCampbell of Knox United Church,Dorset on June 21, 2008 at 11a.m. Interment at Paint LakeCemetery.

Donations to the Knox UnitedChurch in Dorset or the DorsetMuseum would be appreciatedby the family.
