Royal Lankhorst Euronete; its roots
In 1803 a young man named Nicolaas Jurjan Lankhorst, married into a family that owned
a small factory manufacturing ropes and netting and started “Lankhorst Touwfabrieken”.
In 1965 Captain Gramaxo founded his company which later became Grupo Euronete. In 1998
the two families joined and merged into the Lankhorst Euronete group bv. In 2003, on the
occasion of the group’s bicentennial anniversary, Her Majesty the Queen of The Netherlands
granted the company by Royal Warrant the predicate “Royal”. History started modestly in
1803 as Lankhorst Touwfabrieken, but the company has since expanded into a multi-faceted
enterprise of international stature around 1.300 employees!

- A joint venture named LASH vof., a plastic pallet producing company, was established

This brochure aims to provide you with a short overview of the development of Royal Lankhorst Euronete over the past two centuries, and to introduce the wide range of products that the group currently manufactures and sells worldwide.

Lankhorst Ropes is specialized in the development
and production of fibre ropes and steelwire ropes
with a special focus on added values like breaking
strength, life-time, safety and user friendliness.
Lankhorst Ropes is the leading supplier in the mari-
time and offshore market throughout the world.
The ropes are produced in accordance with the
OCIMF and ISO standards.
The R&D department constantly works on innova-
tive solutions based on market developments and
customer demands. These solutions can be either
new products or optimized existing techniques.
Various materials are applied, such as polyamide,
polyester, polyethylene, polypropylene, HMPE, ara-
mid, LCP and PBO as well as the in-house develo-
ped Tipto.
The sales organisation consists of six special sales
departments, located in five different countries: The
Netherlands, Portugal, United Kingdom, Spain and
Australia.
Stock points are located in Rotterdam, New York,
Houston, Brisbane, Singapore, Fujairah. Irún and
Durban.

Continuous product development has enabled us
to develop into the market leader for high perfor-
mance technical yarns. A dedicated strategy has led
to a strong position in the following markets: Cable
industry, Geotextiles, Horti-culture and agriculture,
Reinforcement fibers, Sewing yarn (FIBC), Fencing,
Artificial grass and also Customized products.
In close cooperation with our customers world-
wide, we develop innovative solutions for specific
applications.
The majority of products, branded under the name
Elite®, is based on a wide range of polyethylene
and/or polypropylene. Besides these raw materials,
also polyamide, polyester, aramide, ultra high
modulus polyethylene, are used for a specific
range of specialties.
The main production facilities are located in
Portugal. The commercial organization is based in
the Netherlands (Sneek).

pure coMposItes dIvIsIonpure composites division
Lankhorst Pure Composites b.v. produces and
sells Pure®; an all-polypropylene self-reinforced
composite material. PURE® is characterised by
high stiffness, low weight, high impact strength
and 100% recyclability. Lankhorst Pure Composites
is located in The Netherlands (Sneek) and consists
of R&D, production and marketing/sales activities.
The patent protected technology can be applied
to markets such as automotive, consumer, anti-
ballistic, construction and protection.
Core of the technology is the extrusion depart-
ment producing the tape. PURE® is available as
tape, woven fabric and consolidated sheets. It can
be used to mould or construct various composite
applications and components. Moulded parts can be
produced by thermoforming from fabric or sheets.
The thermoforming pilot plant is an important asset
in Lankhorst Pure Composite b.v. In this pilot
plant different processes to produce PURE® parts
and/or components can be demonstrated and
investigated. With this facility customers can be
assisted in finding the right parameters for their
own component production.

The Fishing division, conducts worldwide sales
of netting and related fishing tackle primarly
through Euronete.
Euronete is one of the leading suppliers in the
world of fishing nets, wire ropes and fishing tackle.
Distributing branches are: Euro Fishing Gear in the
USA (New Bedford), Euronete Sudamericana in
Uruguay (Montevideo) with a sub-branch in Brazil and
Chile, Euronete Scandinavia in Denmark (Frederica),
Ymuiden Stores Holland in the Netherlands (Ymui-
den), Euronete Uk in Scotland (Aberdeen).
The target of Euronete with these stock-keeping
distribution companies is to provide a fast and
efficient service to all their customers.
Within the product range of Euronete, are several
products that are well known in the fishing industry,
such as: EUROLINE® Netting, EUROLINE PREMIUM®
Netting, EUROLINE PREMIUM PLUS® Netting and
EUROFIX® Tuna and Pelagic Netting.
All of these netting types have been developed
over the years to provide the high performance
and efficiency that our customers require.
With an in-depth knowledge of fishing and in-
house technical wire experts, the Fishing division is
well-suited to design wire constructions such as
EUROWIRE, EUROPACT, TURBO and EURAL.
The Fishing division is also well known for twisted
and braided ropes. Products such as TIPTO EIGHT®,
EUROFLEX®, CERFILENE® and EUROSTEEL® are
very popular and are used on fishing grounds
throughout the world.

plastics Last forever
The Engineered Products Division is a fast growing
division with sales and production facilities located
in the Netherlands (Sneek, Oudega and EKON in
Born) and a sales office in the UK. The division’s
main activities are development, production and
sales of high quality plastic products. Over the past
years, Lankhorst Engineered Products has become
the European leader in its field.
Innovation is the spearhead of the Lankhorst
Engineered Products strategy; it aims to develop new
products and explore new technologies both on it’s
own as well as at the request of clients. ‘Recycled’
plastics are often used as raw materials in order to save
costs and to benefit the environment.
Lankhorst Engineered Products manufactures amongst
others products for ground and marina constructions,
playground equipment, offshore oil and gas explo-
ration, logistical applications, storage systems for
heavy industry and industrial applications. The KLP®
and Ekoboard brands signify quality and durability.
The raw materials that Lankhorst Engineered Products
use in their products originate from various sources.
For example: agricultural film and packaging waste,
bottle caps and beer crates.
Material know-how is the basis for the recipes and is
at the same time the guarantee for consistent quality.

The Yachting division, of which Lankhorst Taselaar
is the leading company, sells marine accessories in
a combination of brand label and private label
products. Distribution is carried out from a central
logistical center and products are sold through
various sales offices.
In 1983 Lankhorst Sport B.V. merged with one of its
oldest and most respected competitors: Taselaar bv.
Through the merger, the Yachting division has become
the leading wholesaler of yachting accessories in the
Netherlands and Belgium.
Today, the Yachting division distributes its products
to customers in the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany
(Lankhorst Hohorst), Poland, Norway, UK, Ireland,
Italy and Russia. The company offers more than
10,000 products, ranging from marine rope to the
latest in marine deck equipment.
