CUSTOMER ORIENTATION AS A MATTER OF PRINCIPLE
We stand for medical devices based on the latest medical and technical developments. Extensive investments in high-tech facilities in the past years have enabled us to work with innovative procedures today. High-quality materials guarantee the quality our customers expect from us.
We have also applied our comprehensive knowledge in the field of endoprosthetics to develop our own OEM product range: Customer-oriented implant systems and instruments for a dependable supply of standard products.
Many of our customers complement their range of products with these systems. They rely on market-ready products which ensure an optimal combination of state-of-the-art medical standards with cost-effectiveness and flexibility. Over many decades of use, the implants have been shown to be safe.
All components are supplied in sterile packaging and labelled – in your individual packaging design, if desired. Combined with the surgical instruments, which are synchronised exactly with the implants, we provide a complete package.
For more than 75 years, quality, cost-effectiveness and reliability have formed the cornerstone of our continued success.
OHST medical technology is the centre of excellence in the area of endoprosthetics and is specialised in joint implants and instruments.

PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
Over decades, the Müller Straight Stem has been safely used as a hip endoprosthesis for cemented fixation in the femur and is one of the most commonly used cemented implants worldwide. Produced from CoCrMo casting alloy (ISO 5832-4) or implant steel (ISO 5832-9) and fitted with a 12/14 cone, the Müller Straight Stem can be combined with both metal and ceramic femoral heads.
One standard and one lateral version, each in 11 different sizes, are available.
The stems differ from one another in terms of length and offset. At 135°, the CCD angle is identical for all stems. The fine groove structure facilitates good adhesion of the cement. Optional cement stoppers limit the depth of the cement. Depressions to facilitate insertion ensure ease of handling.
The fine structure of the surface of the implant increases the surface area and optimises anchoring with bone cement. The modular design of the system allows for optimal individual care of patients, also at an advanced age.
The Müller Straight Stem provides primary stability when the joint is under stress, especially in "softer" bones, thus enabling early mobilisation of the patient. It also covers a wide range of indications and can be used for nearly all primary surgical interventions and also for many revisions.

MÜLLER STRAIGHT STEM
CoCrMo, ISO 5832-4 The cobalt-chrome-molybdenum alloy belongs to the group of cobalt-chrome alloys and has been used in hip replacement surgeries since the 1950s. It complies with the provisions from international norm ISO 5832-4 for implant materials and therefore fully meets the strict requirements that are permanently placed on artificial hip joints. The casting alloy has a high mechanical strength and is thus particularly suitable both for use as a supporting and also tribological component. Cobalt-chrome-molybdenum alloys are characterised by their excellent wear properties and high robustness. In addition, the Müller Straight Stem made of a cobalt-chrome-molybdenum alloy is resistant to corrosion and leaching in case of contact with blood or other bodily fluids. The very high biocompatibility of the material prevents damage of the recipient tissue.
IMPLANT STEEL, ISO 5832-9 The Müller Straight Stem is also available in the implant steel variant ISO 5832-9. This steel alloy has proven successful in everyday clinical use
over decades. With only 10 % nickel, this material contains significantly less nickel than the wrought alloy in accordance with ISO 5832-1. The nitrogen proportion of 0.5 % considerably increases the strength of this material. The material has a high mechanical stability and is made of highly corrosion-resistant, austenitic steel with a very high resistance to intercrystalline corrosion.
CoCrMo, ISO 5832-4 WITH TiNbN COATING The titanium-niobium-nitride (TiNbN) coating is a ceramic protective coating against corrosion for metallic implants. It is applied using a physical vapour deposition (PVD) procedure. Titanium-niobium-nitride is a chemical compound of the two elements titanium and nitrogen. It is a metallic hard material with a typical golden-yellowish colour. The ceramic material is characterised by its very high degree of hardness and resistance to corrosion. Other advantages include low wear and a very low allergenic potential. The nitrite coating improves the surface quality. This thin-layer ceramic has very high adhesive strength and excellent biocompatibility.

BASIC AND RASP INSTRUMENT SET
The Müller Straight Stem covers a wide range of indications. It can be used for nearly all primary surgical interventions and also for many revisions. Implantation requires only a handful of basic instruments. The universal instrument set enables a smooth switch from the standard to the lateralised version during surgery. The rasps are made of premium-grade hardened stainless steels. They are CNC ground and subsequently plasma-polished. This makes the instruments particularly durable and facilitates easy preparation.
Both the basic instrument set and the rasp instrument set can be supplied in our Monolite trays. The instrument trays are cast in one piece from high quality stainless steel. Their high thermal and chemical resilience and the use of the transport covers as cover lids make transport and sterilisation particularly easy. The system is characterised by its light weight and can be stacked as desired. The individual positioning of the retaining elements in the hole matrix ensure a smooth workflow during any surgical procedure. In the trays, a shaded layout facilitates the arrangement of the instruments.
