‘Bridging Research Perspectives’ Online International Lecture Series

The Government Vidarbha Institute of Science and Humanities Amravati, (MS) India, has long standing in the field of higher education established in 1923. It is a state’s reputed and prime Institute. It carries a proud heritage, built on the foundations of academic excellence, diverse educational programmes, student achievement, distinguished faculties, varied co-curricular activities and illustrious alumni. After almost a century of unprecedented growth, the Institute is now the fastest growing flagship in the academic world. Over many years of its existence, the Institute has sustained the highest global standards and best practices in higher education. The Institute has an enrollment capacity of more than 3500 students in multiple disciplines. It has grown as one of the largest Institute with more than 115 faculties, over 22 UG and 19 PG academic departments scattered over 168 acres of campus, and offering higher research degrees (M.Phil. and Ph.D.) in 18 different subjects. Going beyond traditional scientific and applied research, the Institute has remarkably widened the scope of research competencies to new interdisciplinary areas that present the greatest opportunity for the creation of new knowledge and hold great significance for humanity in the new world. The research community of this institute feel the urgent need to create a new generation of students, who will combine a rigorous disciplinary depth with the ability to reach out to other disciplines and work in interdisciplinary teams. A comprehensive understanding of the social challenges requires the collaboration of physical scientists, social scientists, humanity scholars and engineers, and will be highly interdisciplinary. Any research and education are central to future challenges as the knowledge creation and innovation frequently occur at the interface of disciplines. Interdisciplinary programs help to ensure ability to work in a problem-oriented way and at the same time the ability to think across fields and interact. Therefore, to facilitate fruitful interactions among the research community, the Research Group of the Institute proposes to organize the Online International Lecture Series “BRP-2020”.
