Great Asia Women Achievers Award 2017

We are proud to share that DPS,Gautam Buddh Nagar, Noida'sFounder Principal, Ms IndiraKohli was awarded with theG r e a t A s i a W o m e nAchievers Award -2017,organised by the BhartiyaCultural Social Development

Association at the India Islamic Centre, Lodhi Road on August 12, 2017.Ms Kohli has been conferred this honour in recognition of her significantachievements as an educationist par excellence over the past threedecades. She was one among other awardees of repute including MsDeepa Malik, Para Olympic player.

Inter House Patriotic Poem Recitation and Photography Competition

The students of Senior School participated in the Inter House PoemRecitation and Photography Competition held in August 2017 with fullpatriotic fervour. Satluj House bagged the first position, while YamunaHouse came in second and the third position was shared by Ganges &Ravi Houses. Keshav of class VI-A from Ravi House was chosen as thebest speaker. In the Photography event, Ganges House's Amay Agarwalof VI D won the first position. Ravi House's Alina Shahab of VII D won thesecond position while the third position was shared by Chenab House'sArchit VI B and Aashriya VIII B.

Independence Day Special Assembly

A special assembly was conducted by

the students of Class X as part of

Independence Day celebrations on

August 16, 2017. The spirit of

patriotism was evident in the skit,

thought and the dance presented

during the assembly.As per the CBSE guidelines thestudents and the staff took pledge for

a cleaner, secular and prosperous India. The assembly was wellcoordinated and executed.

Interact Club Installation Ceremony 2017

“We make a living by what we get, but, we make a life by what we give.”

William ChurchillThe Installation Ceremony held in the School'sTagore Auditorium on August 22, 2017 marked thebeginning of second year of Interact Club of ourschool. The event was marked with the presence ofMajor Dalbir, President, Rotarian Praveen Gupta &other prominent Rotarians. The guests pinned

badges on to the office bearers and initiated them towards their roles asmembers of the Club. The school choir's sonorous performance was muchappreciated as was the dance presented on the stage. A presentation ofprevious year's Interact Club Activities was also shown by the students.“Be a gift to the world” has been chosen as this year's theme of InteractClub as every one of us has something to share and give, irrespective ofwho we are.

A Visit to Rashtrapati BhawanStudents of Classes XI andXII went on a visit to thePresident 's House onSaturday, August 19, 2017accompanied by theirteachers. Students got theo n c e i n a l i f e t i m eopportunity to explore theremarkable abode andlearn about its history and inception. The students toured the DurbarHall which acts as a venue for many state events and functions. TheNorth Drawing Room impressed the young visitors as they learnt aboutits use for receiving visiting Heads of State. The Persian style paintedceiling of the State Ballroom was much appreciated by theAshoka Hallstudents. The students enjoyed the tour of the with aBanquet Hallseating of 104 diners and portraits of all former Presidents embellishingthe walls. A few other parts of the House were also toured by the studentswho found the experience to be extremely enriching.

DPS, GBN Students Calculate & Compute Success Accurately!

The students of our school participated inthe Inter School Math and IT Competition-'Count O Compute' held at Jaypee PublicSchool, Noida on August 22 & 23, 2017 andthey were awarded the overall 3

The talented dancers of DPS, GBN were placedthird Inter DPS Dance Festivalin the -Nrityanjali organised for classes VI to XII under

the guidance of the DPS Society, New Delhi and hosted by DPS Faridabadon Aug 5, 2017. The students performed Kathak on the stage andoutshone the dancers from 24 other schools who had participated in thisZonal Level Competition. Eight students from our school performed onthe concept 'JAGRITI' which portrayed various social issues like save &educate the girl child and economic inequality. students of classes XI and XII participated in an online quizcompetition on the Indian freedom struggle on August 11, 2017. Thestudents received participation certificates for completing the event in therequired time of 10 minutes.

Chess CompetitionChess player Aman, of class VIII participated in the"BEACHON JAIPUR CUP” (International Rated Tournament)in Jaipur, from August 12-16, 2017 and won the secondposition in Under 13 category and also raised hisInternational Rating Points by 53.

SCIENCE WEEK CELEBRATIONS

Science Week was celebrated on August 16 and 17in the school. Students were engaged in variousactivities. In class VI, Quiz based on Planets andUniverse was conducted in groups. Class VIIstudents wrote a punch line individually on the latestmedical technology. This developed a sense of

creativity in the young minds. For class VIII, slogan writing was theactivity and children did it in groups on the topic based on disabledpersons.Children from classes XI B and XII worked on topics like, Ninth planet, 3-Dprinting, Gene modification crispr, proton accelerator, Hyperloop.Students displayed information on works of various scientists. Class IXstudents prepared an advertisement to promote Space Tourism. Class Xstudents attempted to solve a questionnaire based on a video depictingthe latest scientific discovers. The science week was an informative andeducative week which helped the students enjoy their science periods andtook them one step out and ahead of the books.

Inter School District Table Tennis Championship

Painting Competition

A Painting Competition was organized on the theme “My Favorite Sport/ Your Favorite Sports Person” on August 25, 2017 for the students ofclasses IV to XII. The best paintings were selected and sent to DainikJagran, Noida.

NDTV-UL National Safety Science Quiz 2017

The students of classes IX-XII participated in the Level 1 of the Safety Quizconducted by NDTV on August 30, 2017. The students were able tosuccessfully attempt the 10 questions of Round 1 and also take up thetime bound 25 questions of Round 2. A total of 148 students participatedin the event.
