Installation of the towing electrics kitmust be undertaken by a specialistworkshop or an appropriately quali-fied person. Before starting work,you must read the installation in-structions through completely. After

installing the towing electrics kit, the in-stallation instructions should be kept with thevehicle service documentation.

All claims under the guarantee will lapse incase of improper use or modification of thetowing electrics kit or any of its componentparts. When driving without a trailer or loadcarrier, any adapter installed must be removedfrom the electrical socket. We reserve the rightto alter the design, content or colour. Weaccept no liability for any errors in theseinstructions. All details and illustrations arenon-binding.

In case of missing a rear fog lamp on the trailer,it should be retrofitted.

We accept no responsibility and give noguarantee for technical and electricalmodifications made after the initial operationof the towing electrics kit by the vehiclemanufacturer and which may lead, for exampleto malfunction of the trailer socket or itsperipheries.

The trailer module is not diagnostics-capable.If the manufacturer’s diagnostics processesor software-supported test mechanismsgenerate error reports directly or indirectlylinked with trailer operation, the trailer modulemust be disconnected from the leads to thetrailer socket and a new diagnostic processinitiated.

Le montage du kit de connexionélectrique doit être effectué par unatelier spécialisé ou par une personnequalifiée en la matière. Avant le débutdes travaux, lire impérativement lesinstructions de montage dans leur

intégralité. Après le montage du kit de connexionélectrique, joindre les instructions de montageaux documents du véhicule.

Un usage inapproprié ou des modifications dukit de connexion électrique, ou des pièces quile composent, entraînent l’expiration de toutdroit à la garantie. Lors d’une conduite sansremorque ou porteur de charge, les adaptateursutilisés doivent, le cas échéant, toujours êtreenlevés de la prise de courant. Sous réservede modifications de constructions, équipement,couleurs ou erreur. Données et illustrations soustoute réserve.

Pour les remorques qui ne sont pas équipésavec feux anti-brouillard arrière, il devrait êtreinstallé.

Nous n’assumons aucune responsabilité nigarantie pour les modifications techniques etélectroniques ayant été effectuées après lapremière mise en service du kit de connexionélectrique par le constructeur automobile etayant mené par exemple à des mauvaisfonctionnements de la prise de remorque ou desa périphérie.

Le module remorque ne contient pas de fonctiondiagnostic! Au cas où des processus dediagnostic définis par le fabricant ou desmécanismes de contrôle assistés par ordinateurdevaient générer des messages d’erreurdirectement ou indirectement en rapport avecle fonctionnement de la remorque, il est impératifpour la prise de remorque de détacher le moduleremorque du groupe électrique et d’initier unenouvelle procédure de diagnostic.

In caso di rimorchi non corredati di luceretronebbia, questa dovrebbe essere istallata.

Per le modiche tecniche ed elettronicheeseguite dopo la prima messa in funzione delkit elettrico da parte del costruttore del veicolo,e che portano, per esempio, a un malfun-zionamento della presa del rimorchio o dellasua periferia, non assumiamo alcuna res-ponsabilità. !

Il modulo del rimorchio non è idoneo alladiagnosi! Nel caso in cui processi diagnosticio apparecchiature di prova controllate dasoftware dovessero generare dei protocollid’errore in rapporto diretto o indiretto conl’uso del rimorchio, si deve staccare il modulodel rimorchio dal conduttore per la presa delrimorchio, e avviare nuovamente la diagnosi!

Der Einbau dieses Elektrosatzes mußvon einer Fachwerkstatt oder einerentsprechend qualifizierten Persondurchgeführt werden. Vor Beginn allerMontagearbeiten unbedingt dieEinbauanleitung komplett durchlesen.

Nach Einbau des Elektrosatzes ist die Ein-bauanleitung den Serviceunterlagen desFahrzeuges beizulegen!

Bei unsachgemäßer Anwendung oder Verän-derung des Elektrosatzes bzw. der darinbefindlichen Bauteile erlischt jeder Anspruchauf Gewährleistung. Beim Fahren ohneAnhänger oder Ladungsträger müssen ggf.verwendete Adapter immer aus der Steckdoseentfernt werden. Änderungen bezüglichKonstruktion, Ausstattung, Farbe sowie Irrtumvorbehalten. Alle Angaben und Abbildungenunverbindlich.

Bei Anhängern ohne Nebelschlussleuchtesollte diese nachgerüstet werden.

Für technische bzw. elektronische Änderun-gen, welche nach erstmaliger Inbetriebnahmedes Elektrosatzes vom Fahrzeugherstellerdurchgeführt werden und beispielsweise zuFehlfunktionen der Anhängersteckdose oderderen Peripherie führen, übernehmen wirkeinerlei Gewährleistung!

Das Anhängermodul ist nicht diagnosefähig!Sollten herstellerseitige Diagnoseprozessebzw. softwaregestützte PrüfmechanismenFehlerprotokolle generieren, welche direktoder indirekt mit Anhängerbetrieb in Zusam-menhang stehen, ist das Anhängermodul vomLeitungssatz für die Anhängersteckdose zutrennen und ein nochmaliger Diagnosevorgangzu starten!

Anhängerbetrieb konfigurieren / Set up trailer operation

Allgemein

Nach Einbau des E-Satzes sind dieobligatorische Anhängerbeleuchtung sowiedie in einigen Ländern gesetzlich vorge-schriebene Anhängerblinküberwachungohne jede Freischaltung am Fahrzeuggewährleistet!

Es wird jedoch die Meldung “Steuergerätfalsch codiert“ im Fehlerspeicher hinter-legt ( 19 - Diagnoseinterface für Datenbus)!Dieser Eintrag hat allerdings keine Aus-wirkung auf weitere Funktionen und kannbis zum nächsten planmäßigen Werkstatt-aufenthalt ignoriert werden. Wir empfehleneine Freischaltung mittels herstellerseitigenService-Testers (VAS 5051 / 5052) imRahmen der jährlichen Serviceintervalle!

Codierung bitte wie folgt durchführen:

· Fahrzeug-Eigendiagnose· Gateway-Verbauliste· 19 – Diagnoseinterface für Datenbus· Lange Codierung lesen / schreiben· 69 – Anhängerfunktion ( auf codiert schalten!)

Fahrzeuge mit Einparkhilfe

Nach erfolgter Freischaltung wird imAnhängerbetrieb auch die rückwärtigeEinparkhilfe automatisch deaktiviert!

The message “Control unit incorrectlycoded“ will, however, appear in the faultmemory ( 19 – Diagnosis interface for databus)! Yet this entry has no effect on theother functions and can be ignored untilyour next regular service appointment. Werecommend the connection via the factory-mounted service tester (VAS 5051 / 5052)within the framework of the annual serviceintervals!

Please effect coding as follows:

· Vehicle self-diagnosis· Gateway assembly list· 19 – diagnosis interface for data bus· Read / write long coding· 69 – trailer function ( switch to coded!)

Vehicles with park assist system

After the effected connection, the rear parkassist system will also automatically bedeactivated in trailer operation!

Après l’installation du module électrique,l’éclairage obligatoire de la remorque ainsique le contrôle des clignotants de laremorque, prescrit dans certains pays,sont assurés sans qu’il soit nécessaired’activer ces fonctions dans le véhicule!

Toutefois, le message «mauvais codagedu dispositif de commande» sera affichédans la mémoire d’erreurs ( 19 – interfacede diagnostic pour bus de données)! Or,ce message n’a aucune influence sur lesautres fonctions et il n’est pas nécessairede s’en occuper jusqu’au prochain serviceprévu dans un garage. Nous vousrecommandons d’activer ces fonctions àl’aide d’un testeur de service du fabricant(VAS 5051 / 5052) dans le cadre desintervalles annuels de service!

Veuillez effectuer le codage comme il suit:

· autodiagnostic du véhicule· liste d’assemblage gateway· 19 – interface de diagnostic pour bus de données· lire / écrire un code long· 69 – mode remorque ( commuter à encodé!)

Après l’activation, l’aide au parking arrièreest également désactivé automatiquementdans le mode remorque!
