This is a shortcut index to Pacific weather maps for those with limited bandwidth at sea. With a land connection you can download them all at once from the OPC—these are gifs that show directly in a browser, but they are large files. The images shown below are outdated thumbnails; to get latest products use the links provided. With an Internet connection the right-hand links download latest versions of the maps shown. When underway, the left-hand link sends an email to Saildocs requesting a reduced file size map from them. Remove all signatures from the mail. The body of the email must be blank except for the request generated by the link. Also for email requests underway, your high-seas email program should be selected as the computer’s default. Update times are UTC, fol-lowed by file size. These are tif files, which require a graphics viewer, but these are the smallest files available free from NWS.
