Principal’s Desk!Dear Parents,“Anyone who thinks grading begins in the spring and ends in the fall is missing the best part of the wholeyear; for grading begins in January with the dream.” We focused on every aspect of our academic plan equallyand also we put equal emphasis on observation and celebtration.
“See for the highest, aim at that highest, and you shall reach
the highest. This is what we encourage our students with. And
to walk on the path of success our students took inspiration
from the evergreen Youth Icon Swami Vivekananda. The
school celebrated the National Youth Day (12th Jan) to observe
the birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda. Students took
part in the celebration by presenting a speech and an inspiring
story related to life of Swami Vivekananda in the morning
assembly.
The air of Vikash was in a festive mood as the students were celebrating
the harvest season. Children welcomed Lohari, Pongal, and Maker
Sanskrit (13th Jan) with lot of happiness. They presented a speech in
English, Hindi and Odia for all the three festivals. Then a group song in
Gujrati and a group dance in telegu were presented to showcase the
unity of culture and tradition among the Vikashites. The spring festival
(20th Jan) was also welcomed by the students in the morning assembly
by an English conversation a group song and a Bengali group dance.

The school observed the birth anniversary ofNetaji Subash Chandra Bose and Veer SurendraSai on 23rd January in the morning assembly.Children presented a speech in English andHindi on both the freedom fighters. The essenceof patriotism was refreshed in the hearts of thestudents.
A girl child is nation’s pride. Vikashobserved the National Girl Child Day (24thJan) in the morning assembly. Studentspresented a conversation in English and amime show by the girls of Class-VIII wasperformed. The mime show was spectacularwith a very compelling message of savingthe girl child.
The National Voter’s Day (25th Jan) was observed with the participation of the students presenting different itemslike English conservation and poem in the assembly. The motive was to spread awareness among the students aboutthe right to vote for a leader who can lead the nation on the path of truth.
Republic Day (26th Jan) was celebrated in the augustpresence of Chief Guest Shri S.N. Tewari, DirectorAcademic Sir Shri V. Shrinivas, VGI, Dean of AcademicShri Pitamber Das, VRS, teachers, parents and students.. Abeautiful display of parade was presented by the students offour houses Shanti, Maitri, Sakti and Pragathi of our school.

Two speeches in Hindi and English were presented bythe students. A welcome song was sung by the schoolchoir group and the cultural programme consisted ofgroup dances on the theme of culture, tradition, unityand love for the country. 52 students who were awardedthe Merit Certificate by CBSE for achieving CGPA-10 in2016-17 were felicitated by the Chief Guest. Also, 24students who bagged Gold, Silver and Bronze medals inGeneral Knowledge & English Olympiad were awardedby the Chief Guest. Our school parade troop participatedat the state level parade at Mahatma Gandhi MargBhubaneswar on the occasion of Republic Day & washighly appreciated. On Republic Day celebration atkhorda the district collector felicitated Miss SaswatiPritiparna & the Guide Teacher Mr. RajkishoreMohapatra for their selection to National Children’sScience Congress and Indian Science Congress. AlsoMaster Sachidananda Panda & the Guide Teacher MissSheetal were felicitated for their selection to NationalChildren Science Congress at Ahmadabad. HonorableChief Guest Shri S.N. Tewari, Former Director General ofPolice, Odisha was highly impressed by the schoolambience and the performance of the students. He spokeabout the importance of education and blessed thestudents.

On 31st Jan Vidushi Malvika Mitra fromSPICMCAY performed Kathak which enthralledthe audience.
On 30th Jan, 2018, Yamha Motorsorganised a Road safety Awareness for ourprimary section children.
Along with the observations and celebrations we are also focusing on the academics of thestudents. Regular inspection and revision are keeping the students on their toes. The preparation isin full swing.
Vikash observed the Martyr’s Day (30th Jan) to paytribute to the Father of our Nation and the otherfreedom fighter who gave away their lives for ourcountry. Students observed the day with two groupsongs, conservation in English and a patrioticEnglish poem.
