Promoting quality for better health services
HQIP National Clinical Audit Feedback Mechanism
(NCAFM)
Introduction
HQIP quality improvement strategy launched in November 2011
(1) Improving the national clinical audit programme
Need to improve the functionality and effectiveness of the programme and address some issues raised by local and national stakeholders
Feedback mechanism for NCAs launched
– March 2012
What the system is designed for
Highlighting examples of good practice within national clinical audit projects
Making constructive suggestions for improvement to projects within the Quality Accounts list
Highlighting ongoing or unresolved issues
What the system is not designed for
Technical issues in relation to projects (these should be addressed to the relevant provider)
Projects with national coverage which do not appear in the Quality Accounts list
Why it is important
HQIP receives a great deal of constructive, anecdotal feedback regarding national clinical audits - both positive and covering areas people feel could be strengthened.
NCAFM provides an effective on-line system that enables those involved in all aspects of participation in NCAs to comment on their experiences and make suggestions for improvement.
