Now that we have begun to thaw fromthe winter, it is time to feel the warm sun-shine on our faces again. March is alwaysa beautiful time of year. The plants arestarting to bloom, so the vibrant colorsfrom the azaleas, and honeysucklesemerging are breathtaking. This monthwill signify the rebirth of plants and therejuvenation of fauna. The soothingsounds of birds chirping again, travelingback from their southern migration andthe Cobia biting in the Broad River andthe Port Royal Sound is a sure sign thatSpring is upon us.
So as we experience warmer weather, give homage to the patron saint ofIreland on St. Patrick’s day and watchthe final playoff rounds of this collegebasketball season; each of us can ben-efit from truly appreciating the spring-time, whether it is taking a walk on thewaterfront at sunset, riding your bikeon the Spanish Moss trail, taking awalk up the lighthouse on HuntingIsland State Park or simply a trip downto Paradise Pier. Whichever way youchoose, take time to enjoy our city ofBeaufort and all its beauty and history.
