He was a resident of Crown Point for most of his life, having worked for Internationa] Paper Company in Ticonderoga for 37 years before retiring in 1984 as a cutter operator. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served during World War II in England.
Survivors include his wife, the former Ruth Mae Quinn; two sons, Brian C. and Steven J., all of Crown Point; two daughters, Mrs. Charles {Sharon) Blanchard of Crown Point and Mrs. Charles (Cindy) Smith of Hague; a sister, Mrs." Robert (Geraldine) Wet-more of North Hudson, an aunt, Mrs. Paul Uda) Reed of Ticonderoga; seven grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. A son, Michael A. Lee, died in 1977. .
There will be no calling hours. .Cremation will take place at the convenience of the family, A graveside service will be held Thursday at 11:30 a.m. at the family plot of the Ironville Cemetery where the Rev. Arthur Bagley will officiate.

"It bothers me that my husband is sitting in Lake Champlain," French said. "I just didn't want to wait any longer to have the bodies pulled up. It just seemed like endless red tape, so I decided to end the red tape."
An insurance company she contacted has also offered a $1,000 reward to anyone else who finds the wreckage and bodies.
