KC & The Sunshine Band is still as widely popular today as they were when they first danced into the music scene 40 years ago. Harry Wayne Casey – KC for short – developed a unique fusion of R&B and funk, with a hint of a Latin percussion groove, giving us an impressive string of hits like “Get Down Tonight,” “That’s The Way (I Like It)” and “Shake Your Booty.” With sales of over 100 million records, three Grammy Awards and an American Music Award, KC & The Sunshine Band was one of the most progressive bands of the 70’s and is credited with changing the sound of modern pop music! www.heykcsb.com
On the occasion of the band's 25th anniversary, Barenaked Ladies are celebrating with a new album, Grinning Streak. The whole of Grinning Streak unfolds with the signature blend of immediacy, tunefulness and witty sophistication that made BNL hits such as "Pinch Me,” "Brian Wilson," "If I Had $1,000,000" and the chart-topping "One Week" modern-day classics. On the heels of the album's release, the Barenaked Ladies will embark on the latest iteration of the summer tours that formed such a big part of its enduring appeal. "We built our career playing summer outdoor shows," lead singer Ed Robertson points out. "To be out there with a couple of other great bands bringing a lot of music to people – hey, it's a nice way to spend the summer.” www.barenakedladies.com

August 7Jake Miller
"Music without a message is just sound," states 20-year-old rapper/singer/songwriter Jake Miller. These are wise words for such a young artist. But, this isn't just another rapper spitting a clever turn of phrase; it's Jake Miller's creative credo. And, just who is he as an artist exactly? Well, he's a clean-cut kid from the family-oriented suburb of Weston, Florida who was raised on a healthy mix of pop, rap, and hip-hop music and "be good, do good, study hard, work hard, be nice to everybody" morals who makes, as he says, "pop music with hip-hop incorporated into it and meaning behind it." With three EPs including "The Road Less Traveled," which hit No. 1 on iTunes Hip-Hop Chart, his album Us Against Them and a rabid social media fan base, Jake is primed to live up to MTV's declaration that he is "about to blow up." www.jakemiller.com

With 2014 marking 19 years of the Bacon Brothers band’s existence and the release of their seventh album 36 Cents, any cynical preconceptions about well-known actors “dabbling” in music can safely be discarded now. “I like risks,” notes Kevin, a classic understatement from an artist who’s played challenging, unsympathetic roles in everything from The Woodsman to Sleepers to Oliver Stone’s JFK. “And there’s nothing more risky about being a well-known actor and playing in a rock band.” But there’s the interesting thing about risks—sometimes they pay off, for The Bacon Brothers, they certainly have. www.baconbros.com
Throughout the 1990's as well as the 1980's, 1970's, 1960's and 1950's, there has been only one King of the Blues - Riley B. King, affectionately known as B.B. King. Since B.B. started recording in the late 1940's, he has released over 60 albums many of them considered blues classics, like 1965's definitive live blues album "Live At The Regal," and 1976's collaboration with Bobby "Blue" Bland, "Together For The First Time."www.bbking.com and www.bbkingfanclub.net
Delbert McClinton, an international star in the realms of blues and traditional country music, cross-pollinates the genres into his own unique sound. Since 1980, when his sixth solo album The Jealous Kind sparked the top 10 hit “Givin’ It Up for Your Love,” he has remained one of the most respected figures in American roots music. In 1992, Delbert won his first Grammy Award, for the duet “Good Man, Good Woman” with Bonnie Raitt. That was followed by a second win in 2003 for Nothing Personal in the Best Contemporary Blues Album Category. In 2006, he won a third Grammy for his Cost of Living album. www.delbert.com

A casual listen to the Boz Scaggs discography makes one thing obvious: Boz Scaggs is both a musical seeker and a man of sizable talent as a singer, songwriter and guitarist. His explora-tions in blues and R&B, Rock and Jazz have produced lasting work and a career that has brought with it acclaim, a loyal following, and an enduring respect among musicians. The New Yorker, commenting on Scaggs’ performance, called him, “one of the few middle-aged pop stars to convincingly delve into the Great American Songbook.” www.bozscaggs.com
