We make 2 different sounds in “read”.
I bet they can’t read“read”.
Yesterday I read that.
I like to read.
Have you read that?
Can you read this?
Tomorrow we will read.
We love to read “read”. We love toread. Let’s read a
story.
Squeaky wanted to travel. He would dream of far away places he had read about and had seen on T.V.
What a pleasure it
would be to see Paris.
What a pleasure it would be to see Barcelona.
What a pleasure it would be to see Moscow.
What a pleasure it would be to see London.
He dreamed of going to sea and traveling to all these
pleasant places.
One day Squeaky went to the dock to find the steamer that would carry him across the sea.
The Main Stream Steamer with its whistle squealing was ready to leave the dock.
Squeaky went sneaking aboard.
He hid beneath the cheese and eagerly awaited his adventures.
“All aboard,” the captain of the Main Stream Steamer
screamed.
All aboard!
So Squeaky went to sea aboard the Main Stream
Steamer.
The steamer sailed by
many beaches.
At last they reached Europe.
It was a pleasure to see
Paris.
It was a pleasure to see Barcelona.
It was a pleasure to see Moscow.
It was a pleasure to see London.
Sqeaky had so much fun he forgot all about the Main Stream Steamer, and it had steamed away leaving him in Europe.
Squeaky loved seeing new sights, but now he wanted to go home. How could he reach his home?
He wandered along the beach and found a place to hide, dreaming now of going home.
He could not walk. He could not swim. Things were looking really bleak.
A seagull asked if he could fly.
It would be really neat to get a seat on an airplane and fly
across the sea.
“If I were rich,” Squeaky thought, “it would be easy to get a seat.”
He began that day to write with zeal, about all the neat things he had seen.
The Eiffel Tower is in France.
The view from the top is amazing.
He took his writings to a travel magazine, where he was told they were worth gold. He was one wealthy mouse. His treasure without measure had come from his head they said.
It’s better to pay and have a seat
than to be a sneak.
Squeaky was one really happy mouse.
You get to say whateveryou please!
We want to say whateverwe please!
Sometimes we saya as in great.
It’s a great pleasure to tease you!
So ha, ha, ha, on you!
We don’t get mad,We don’t get sad,We get smarter!
That idea is asecret weapon
against teasers!
The dreaded, deadly great white shark is lurking
ready in the dark.
When you’re heading for waters deep,
He may appear to be asleep.
But don’t sneak close and tease a shark,
For he will leave a deathly mark.
Build a cheer. Start with--
Weare

We aregreater

We arethe

Say it again with feeling.
