1. Whole notes ore to be played in the sustained, recitative Baroque manner,0 =circa 66-'32

At 5 the instruments enter consecutively as indicated on the page;each plays its figuration as rapidly as possible employing the articulationspecified. The : ;
tenuto passage between piano and Vc. shouldbe, played slower than other articulations.
'Df a harpsichord is used, it should be a large one; the player choosesthe registration. The jazz set (Rhythm) should be fully equipped.
