• 14 Operating Rooms (Day 1 we will open 11) • A 48 room Universal Care
Center for: outpatient diagnostic and treatment procedures, pre- and post- operative care for ambulatory surgery patients and a 24-hour emergency room for treatment or transport to UW Hospital and Clinics

• Key leadership positions have been recruited and will soon be
engaged full-time.
– Vicki Hill, Vice President Clinical & Interventional Services,
assumes role full-time on June 1, 2014.
– Wendy Horton, Vice President Performance Excellence and
Integrated Operations, assumes full-time role on July 1, 2014.
• Timelines for Associate recruitment, assessment, hiring and training
are in development. Information on the hiring and selection process will
be provided to all UW Health Associates in July, 2014.

Best Work & Academic Environment Council
• Hired Select International, Inc. as a consultant for recruitment, assessment and hiring. • Developing timelines for associate recruitment, hiring and training to begin in FY15. • Working with Watertown, developing program plan for Wellness initiative. • Championship Playbook, the newsletter of The American Center, is being distributed
monthly to all UW Health associates via email.
Facility Readiness Council • Construction goals and timelines are being met.
• June 11, 2014: we are about half-way there! 14 months from the Groundbreaking with substantial completion expected by June 2015. April 2015 provisional access will allow critical areas with a longer timeline needed to bring equipment and processes online to have a an opportunity to install and test equipment to be “mothballed” until used.
• January 2015: Equipment and Associates required for installation, testing and “mothballing” strategic equipment allowed “hard hat” access to the building.
• April 2015: Associates allowed access to limited areas for training and orientation purposes.
• June 2015: Substantial Completion: Occupancy of the building for training and orientation of Associates
• July 31 – August 1, 2015: Opening Festivities for Associates and the Community • August 17, 2015: 1st Patient Welcomed • Preparing for TJC and Survey Readiness for The American Center. • Working with Fit Out, FF&E and other teams to achieve timelines and safe opening.

Council Activities
Organizational Health & Innovation Council
• Updated the Business Plan from initial projections. • Determining more accurate volume and staffing projections. • Budget for FY15 completed and developing FY16.
• Validations of individual Physician Practice Commitment and Volume of practice being moved and anticipated at the American Center being confirmed currently with individual physicians, departments and Business Planning & Development data.
Patient & Family Experience Council
• Recruiting Patient – Family Advisors for Councils. • Reviewing Patient Experience Partners for possible training, collaboration
opportunities. • Determining the best learning & development processes for associates. • Active involvement of our Patient & Family Advisors continues with representation
on several Councils at this time.
Physician Leadership Council • Attended initial Leadership Development Training conference. • Finalizing Charter. • Participating in recruitment activities.
Quality Distinction & Clinical Model of Care Council
• UCC Operations and Model of Care utilizing Sr. Elizabeth’s in Appleton as a Best Practice model.
