• You should have the Administrator account or account with Administrative privilege under Window 2000/XP or Vista.

Install USB Dongle Driver
Two type of USB Dongle Drivers to be installed:• Evaluation Dongle – time limited (Extend upon request)• Commercial Dongle
Evaluation Dongle:Run hdd32.exe
Commercial Dongle:Run Rainbow_for_commercal.exe
DON’T connect the USB dongle to laptop before & during driver installation
Install USB Dongle Driver
In Device Manager, Aladdin HASP Key is installed
In Device Manager, Rainbow USB SuperPro is installed
• After driver installed, connect USB dongle to laptop and Window will detect the devices.
• Open Device Manager and check the dongle is installed probably.• If problem found, you should [1] re-install driver, or [2] lookup
update driver from HASP/Safenet(Rainbow) web sites.
Install XCAL Software
• Run the XCAL Setup File and follow the step to complete the installation
• XCAL installation package include the following• XCAL main program• SmartMap• Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 Redistributable [*For DTI(PCTEL) scanner]• WinPcap 4.0.2• Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0 SP1 [*For DTI(PCTEL) scanner]• MapXtreme v6.7.1 Runtime NCP• ffdshow
• Skip the above installation if the software exist (except XCAL), or an updated version has been installed.
Disconnect the USB dongle from laptop during XCAL installation

Install Mobile Devices Driver

• Follow the instruction in handset’s menu and install the driver.
• Connect handset to the laptop via USB/PCMCIA.. Check from Device Manager (Control Panel) the handset is installed probably.

• Interface: This list comes from Mobile Alias Setting. After alias setting user can use alias name by Interface.
• DM Port: COM port for the log data from the handset
• Modem: For the data call test.• AT Port: COM port for control of CPE. (For some
specific handset)
Port Setting - Option
• At bottom of Port Setting Window, three options are available:
1. Enable DHCP: This option is for multi data test. Check it for single PS data call.
2. Set Port Wizard: This is enabled if XCAL is connected to the hardware box (XCAL-MO). It will assign DM Port, Modem Port and AT Port automatically.
3. Network RegEdit: Configure TCP/IP setting of the window. During data test, TCP/IP setting may affect performance.
GPS Setting
• Com Port: GPS Com Port recognized by Device Manager
• User Port : When Com Port set to User Port, this is activated. Select the COM #. (When Virtual COM is used or Window cannot detect the COM)
• GPS Type : NMEA, Trimble…• Baud Rate: GPS communication speed.• Flow Control: Set Flow Control Type
• GPS Time Sync: Allow laptop’s clock synchronize with GPS time
• Time Revision (sec): Activate when GPS Time Sync is checked. This value determine how frequent the laptop clock sync with GPS time.

duration. • By Call End: Applicable when Per File Size or
Per Time is selected. Log stopped until the Call is ended even though File Size/Timer is reached. *
• By Accurate Point: Applicable when Per File Size or Per Time is selected. Log stopped at exact File Size/Timer is reached.
• None: No log is created• Extend logging time (sec): (Applicable when Per
File Size or Per Time is selected). Extend logging time at end of the last call.
• Stop logging when autocall finished: If it is unchecked, logging is continuous after AutoCall is completed. To stop logging, press “Logging” icon.
This is to define Log File Save Option during AutoCall
Remarks: * By Call End help to finish the test call before log ended. Complete the call statistics calculation.

Supported Call Test Type:
Auto Call Setup - Timer• Idle Time: Time period to between a new call
• Setup Time: Maximum period to setup radio link connection for voice/data call
• T_Setup Time: Maximum time period to connect to application server after establishment of PPP connection. This field is valid for data service.
• Total Setup Time: Equivalent to Setup Time + T_Setup Time. Applicable to FTP & HTTP only
• Traffic Time: Time period to complete the voice call. In data call, it is the maximum time period tom complete the activities (FTP, HTTP, Ping, PPP etc) after the application server is connected.
• Call Count : Number of test calls to be performed.

Log File Setting
• Define the log file saving options
• Menu > Setting > Log File Setting
• Default log file name = DRddhhmm-Mx.drm (dd = date; hh=hour; mm=minute; x=Port #)
• e.g. DR251435-M1.drm
• Log File Path: Use default path or define your own path to save the log.
• Add (Year/Month/Day) at user defined path: create sub-folder \yyyymm\dd\ under the defined directory
• Support Qualcomm Format: Savelog file in *.mdm (Applicable to Qualcomm chipset devices only)
Log File Setting
• Log File Name – User prefix: Add prefix to the log file name. (e.g. Enter abc -> abc_DR121308-M1.drm)
• Additional Name:• Interface Name: Add Interface Name to
log. (e.g. DR120905-M1_F399.drm)
• AutoCall Scenario Name: Add scenario name to log. (e.g. DR120905-M1_FTP-DL.drm)
• When both selected, the log file name becomes: DR120905-M1_F399_FTP-DL.drm
Log File Setting
• Manual Logging – Keep Logging: Keep manual logging in progress when you start AutoCallIn
• Upload logfile after autocall: Define the FTP address and account where XCAL upload the log file automatically after Autocall completed.
MIN Setting
• Define name of Mobile display in XCAL
1. Select Menu > Setting > MIN Setting2. Select the Mobile and enter the name. 3. Click OK

• Define color display of XCAL
1. Select Menu > Setting > Color Setting2. Select window type to change the color.3. Double click on color box to be changed4. Pick designated color and click OK

• Define shortcut key of XCAL
1. Select Menu > Setting > Key Setting2. Select from Types and Commands3. Click on white space in Press new
shortcut.
4. Enter the shortcut key like Ctrl+Alt+1. If the shortcut has been used by others, it will be shown at Currently assigned to.
5. Click Assign.6. Click OK to confirm all the assignment.
To cancel, click Cancel
