Since the testing software can create many different test forms and reports, the data on the STAR test is converted to a scaled score that ranges from 0 to 1400. The score is also based on the difficulty of the test questions and the student's patterns of right or wrong answers.

PARENT ROLE

Repeated readings are the best way to improve fluency. Read a passage with your child. Help them with words they are struggling with then have them read the passage again. Start with on-level text then gradually increase complexity.
