The Area Council is the management group for the Area. 

The responsibility of the Area Governor is to hold two Area

Council meetings during the year.

What is an Area Council?

Club Presidents

Club Vice Presidents Education

Club Vice Presidents Membership.  

The Area Council members are:

Assistant Area Governor of Education (appointed)

Assistant Area Governor Marketing(appointed)

Area Secretary(appointed)

Other Council Members include

(Provide assistance to club officers in)

•Club Leadership Training;•Building Membership;•Identifying opportunities for and organizing new clubs;

•Educational completions and programming;•Public Relations;

Area Council Functions:

(Provide assistance to club officers in)

•Club Administration;•Area Speech Contests;•Inter-Club Activities;•Club Programming;•Set goals for the area of each club;

•Follow up on progress toward goals;•Share news, ideas, and suggestions;•Discuss club needs;•Keep communication open between area and clubs;

•Discuss area and club problems with the district governor or district representative.

Area Council Functions

Normally, each Club’s representative reports the status and health of their club in the form

of a brief 1-3 minute report as part of the Area Council Agenda.

Individual Club Reports:

The report should consider the following information:

•Membership status•Educational completions in club•Club administration

•(renewals, Distinguished Club Program)•Summary of Distinguished Club Program

•goals and accomplishments•New ideas being tried in the club
