2 System requirements
Hardware recommendation
In order to work quickly with the VMware image, we recommend the
following hardware:
CPU
Dual Core, 2 GHz
Main memory
4 GB RAM
Hard disk
20 GB free disk space
If you do not meet the recommended hardware requirements, you can
find out how to adjust the existing VMware image accordingly in the
appendix.
Tools
The VMware image is delivered in a zipped version. You first have to
unzip this. To do so, use a compression tool capable of unpacking split
zip files. For example, you can download 7-Zip at
http://www.7-zip.org.
To launch the unzipped VMware image, you need the VMware Player.
You can download it at http://www.vmware.com.

3 Installation and getting started
VMware Player installation
To launch the VMware image, you need the latest version of the VMware
Player. You can download it at
http://www.vmware.com/products/player/ and then install it.
You can use the VMware Player free of charge. You simply have to
register.
Download and extract the VMware image
To launch the VMware image with the VMware Player, you first have to
download all zip files required for your package. Be sure you download
all the zip files into the same folder.
After downloading, extract the content of the zip files to your hard disk
using a compression tool. Always select the first zip-file (filename ending
with .zip.001) to extract the archive.
Launch the VMware image
Procedure
1. Launch the VMware Player.
2. Click on Open a Virtual Machine.
3. Go to the directory in which you extracted the VMware image.
4. Open the file ending with .vmx.

necessary to create a new UUID. If a corresponding dialog opens when
you start the VMware image for the first time, click on OK.

launches automatically during the start of the image.
