Love from God (1 Thess. 4:9; 1 Jn. 3:11,16,23; 4:7,11,12; 2 Jn. 5)

Love and fellowship are tied together (Phil. 2:1)

That Fellowship AboveThat Fellowship Above

The tie that binds Christians together is like the unity between the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit (Jn. 10:30; 17:22)

One in purpose, in revelation, in action, in love (Jn. 3:34; 5:17-19; 9:4)

Verse 2Verse 2

Before our Father’s throne,We pour our ardent prayers;

Our fears, our hopes, our aims are one,Our comforts and our cares.

Our Father’s ThroneOur Father’s Throne

God is on his throne ruling and reigning over the kingdom’s of men (Acts 7:49; Rev. 4-5)

Jesus sits at God’s right hand ruling and reigning (Acts 2:30; Col. 1:16; Heb. 1:8; 12:2)

Ardent PrayersArdent Prayers

Because God rules over all he is able to hear and answer our prayers through Jesus Christ (Phil. 4:6-7; Heb. 4:16; 7:25; 8:1)

Ardent prayers are passionate, fervent, zealous prayers (Acts 12:5; Jas. 5:17)

Fears, Hopes, Aims, Comforts, CaresFears, Hopes, Aims, Comforts, Cares

Christians share their positive feelings of hope, aim, and comfort (Rom. 1:12; 2 Cor. 1:6-7; 5:9; Eph. 4:4)

Christians share their negative feelings of fear and care (2 Cor. 7:5; 11:28)

Verse 3Verse 3

We share our mutual woes;Our mutual burdens bear;

And often for each other flowsThe sympathizing tear.

Christians parted from one another are still bound in spirit (Col. 2:5)
