1. Relative to Regional Memorandum- DepEd-4A-02-RM-18-312 entitled" BRIGADAfor Every Child a Reader" dated Jtme 05, 2018, all concerned are directed to ensure themaximum implementation of the Regional Guidelines on Comprehensive ReadingPolicies as reflected on Regional Order No. 1, s. 2018 of DepEd Region IV-A in orderto make every Filipino child a reader at his/ her grade level.

2. Please refer to DepEd-4A-02-RM-18-312 for all details.

3. It is therefore imperative that the administration of Philippine Infonnal ReadingInventory (Phil.-IRI) both in English and Filipino to Elementary Grades II to VI andMcGENITE to Junior High School - Grade VII to X be done as early as June 18 to 22,2018 in order to establish the reading level profile of children in the public elementaryschool and learners in the secondary level.

4. Report on Phil-IRI and McGenite to be submitted in soft and hard copies at the SDOICon or before July 13, 2018.

5. In addition, there are recommendations from the Undersecretary for Curriculum andInstructions which are reflected in the said Memorandum and need to be attended to bythe concerned such as:

a. Finding out the non-readers and readers with very poor comprehension skillsamong the Grades 4, 5, 6 and Grades 7 to 10 High School students.
