Self-improvement and self-investment

Everyone you meet always asks if you

have a career, are married, or own a house

as if life was some kind of grocery list,

but nobody ever asks if

you are happy.- Heath Ledger

WE ARE NOT IN THE SAME BOAT

“We are in the same storm, but not in the same boat. Your ship couldbe shipwrecked and mine might not be. Or vice versa.

For some, quarantine is optimal. A moment of reflection, of re-connection, easy in flip flops, with a cocktail or a coffee. For others, this is a desperate financial / family crisis. For some that live alone, they're facing endless loneliness. While for others it is peace, rest &time with their relatives.

Financial stimuli made it that some are actually bringing in moremoney to their households than they did previously. Others areworking more hours for less money due to pay cuts or loss in sales.

WE ARE NOT IN THE SAME BOAT (2)

Some are at home spending 2-3 hours a day helping their child with thee-learning, others are doing the same on top of a 10-12 hour workday.

Some have experienced the near death of the virus, some have alreadylost someone from it, and some are not sure if their loved ones aregoing to make it. Others don't believe this is a big deal. So, friends, we are not in the same boat.We are going through a time when our perceptions and needs arecompletely different. Each of us will emerge, in our own way, from this storm. It is very important to see beyond what isseen at first glance. Not just looking, but actually seeing. We are all on different ships during this storm experiencing a verydifferent journey.”

CONTINUING PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT (CPD)

CPD is a combination of approaches, ideas and techniques that willhelp you manage your own learning and growth.

The focus of CPD is firmly on results – the benefits that professionaldevelopment can bring you in the real world.

Perhaps the most important message is that one size doesn’t fit all.

Wherever you are in your career now and whatever you want toachieve, your CPD should be exactly that: YOURS.
