CENWS/BII2Our approach
A Profile is a technical specification describing:
the choreography of the business process(es) covered,
the electronic business transactions exchanged as part of the business process,
the information content of the electronic business transactions exchanged, and
the business rules governing the execution of that business process(es), its business collaborations and business transactions, as well as any constraints on information elements used.

This CEN Workshop Agreement was made publically available in December of 2009. It is available free of charge, at
www.cen.eu/cwa/bii/specs. The deliverables from BII have already been, or are in the
process of being, implemented and tested in several projects and initiatives! e-PRIOR PEPPOL Several national initiatives
CENWS/BII2Usage of BII
BII specifications can be implemented as is, but are also intended for further customization.

CENWS/BII2The future of BII
Tasks
Continued development in pre-award Support and maintenance in post-
award Awareness and dissemination
Alternatives
1. Continue the existing CEN workshop
2. Establishing a new CEN workshop
3. Establish a CEN Technical Committee
4. Establish a private market driven governance organization
5. Move the work to an international level
12
Governance and life cycle management of the BII deliverables is needed – the question is how should it be organized?
