I’m a 2nd grader. Why does this matter to me?

I will be able to read challenging texts and think and talk deeply about what I have read.

I will use what I know to make connections across all subject areas and to the world.

I will read more nonfiction and respond to reading through writing.

I will understand how numbers work and how they can help me solve real world problems.

You can help me to be successful by…

reading aloud to me everyday.

asking me why and how questions that encourage me to think.

playing games with me to help me learn.

helping me look for “real-world problems” and talking to me about how to solve them.
