Setting Our Hearts Aflame
He is Risen
He is Risen! Death is No More!
Alleluia! He is Risen! Every Lent we travel with Jesus on His journey to the Cross. On Holy Thursday we dine with Him and
agonize with Him in the Garden. On Good Friday we share His pain as we witness His trial and journey to His execution; we
want to help carry His cross and ease His suffering; we watch in sadness as He dies on the Cross. On Holy Saturday we keep
Vigil over His tomb… somewhere, in the back of our minds, we pray that He really isn’t dead. On Easter Sunday, we awake to
find an empty tomb… Where can He be? He is Risen… body and soul. He has conquered sin. He has conquered death itself.
He has given us new life.
Many of us know the story of Christ’s Passion, death and resurrection, but have you ever taken the time to pause and reflect
upon what it all means to you personally? How it all relates to you and your life?
I recently took some time to reflect on Christ’s journey to the resurrection and what it means to me in my life. Christ has
conquered death! Eleven years ago my father passed away after being ill for some months. As I struggled with my pain, I asked
God many times, “Why? Why do we suffer so when we lose a loved one?” Especially when, by our faith, I should be
celebrating that Dad is with Jesus in heaven. Jesus has conquered death, after all. But those left behind still feel the pain of
loss, just we feel the pain of Jesus death. More recently my father’s brother, Roger passed away and I feel a renewed pain.
As I journey with Jesus this past Holy Week I am also reflecting back and journeying with my Dad and my Uncle. My Dad,
and Jesus are now welcoming Roger to heaven., along with their mom and dad. The lesson of the Cross gives me hope that I
will see my father again in the fullness of time. And we know Christ’s death brought us new life. My Dad is also giving me
new life now in so many different ways. He is in my heart and my soul and still inspiring me to be the person I was born to
be.
Today, take some time to remember lost loved ones. Their suffering is over and they are in Heaven today, helping Jesus to
take care of you from above. I guarantee it!
May you all have a blessed Easter.... Holly

Divine Mercy
Divine Mercy Sunday is fast approaching. The feast of Divine Mercy is on the second Sunday of East-
er. But what is Divine Mercy? How do we receive the promise of forgivingness of sin and its punish-
ment? What are some of the devotions to Divine Mercy? If you would like the answer to these ques-
tions and more, look on the St. Isidore parish website at
https://cranberrycatholic.org/
Click on Divine Mercy and you will find an explanation along with five very important parts of Divine
Mercy. They are referred to as F.I.N.C.H. which stands for feast, image, novena, chaplet, and hour.

Clergy Health & Retirement Trust
Today’s collection will benefit Clergy Trust which provides
programs and support to care for the health and well-being of
all active and senior diocesan priests in good standing. By
supporting this collection, you are helping to ensure that our
active priests receive the care they need to continue their
important work and our senior priests, like Fr. Bill Kremmell,
Fr. Richard Crowley, Fr. Dan Crowley and Fr. Frank Daley
have support and access to quality care. This collection is a
critical source of funding for the Trust and your generosity is
greatly appreciated. On behalf of myself, like Fr. Bill
Kremmell, Fr. Richard Crowley, Fr. Dan Crowley, Fr. Frank
Daley, and all my brother priests who benefit from the
support of Clergy Trust, thank you so much for your
continued support and generosity.
Living Our Faith - Faith Formation Update:
This month in our year on prayer, we studied the various
symbols we use as part of our Church rituals, with particular
emphasis on Baptisms, Weddings and Funerals. Through
Google Classroom, the children in grades 1-5 focused on the
Biblical roots of the symbol of water by viewing videos and
answering questions about the Creation story, Noah’s Ark,
and the Baptism of Jesus. During our remote meeting, we first
did an activity showing how we use symbols to remind us of
stories or help us understand concepts. Then, we discussed
how the Bible stories demonstrated that water is life-giving,
cleansing, and renewing. That is why it is a powerful symbol,
especially in the Sacrament of Baptism. We ended our session
with an interactive poll on the various symbols used in
Baptisms, Weddings, Funerals, and other Church rituals.
In the middle school group, students were asked to view and
answer questions on three videos introducing Baptism,
Matrimony, and the Catholic Funeral Rite. During our
remote meeting we also discussed the use of symbols to help
us understand concepts and ended our session with the
interactive poll on symbols.
Once again attendance and participation were exceptionally
good. Due to the polling, our meetings went a little longer
than usual, but the families stayed engaged and participated
without complaint. I deeply miss the sense of community and
interaction that our in-person sessions offer but I’m very
pleased at the ability of the children to adjust and make the
best out of our current situation.

GOSPEL MEDITATION
Encourage Deeper Understanding of Scripture
Easter Sunday of the Resurrection of the Lord
Who are you? This question was most assuredly asked of Jesus
on the day of resurrection and it is a question asked of each of
us. Our identities can be described in so many ways. We can
start with our gifts and our talents, expertise and unique per-
sonality expressions. We can describe things we like and
things we prefer to set aside. As descriptive and captivating as
these can be, none come close to our essence, our real and
true self. While accurate in their own right, the self who lives
and interacts with the world is the self we want others to see,
the one we project. But there is much more to us just as there
is much more to Jesus.
Jesus could describe himself based on all of the same criteria
we use for ourselves. After all, Jesus is totally human. With all
that people witnessed and all that Jesus knew about his physi-
cal human self, his divinity also shined forth. There was so
much more to know about him. Whereas once Jesus was
transfigured on top of a mountain before his disciples’ eyes,
so today he is transfigured before our eyes as he reveals his
resurrected self as the Christ. Alleluia, Christ is risen! His glo-
rified presence stands before us showing us that we are all
much more than we see ourselves to be and show to others.
We have a depth, purpose, and essence that go way beyond
the superficial treasures of our existence to the very core of
who we are.
Within each one of us is a spark of Divine Love where crea-
ture and Creator meet, and we are known uniquely by the
name God whispers to us. It is not the earthly name that was
given to us but the one that flows from Divine Power and
claims us as one who is special and chosen in God’s eyes. This
is the self that will rise one day with the eternal Christ of God
and live eternally as God provides. This is the self that when
free from all superficial constraints layered upon it in this life
can discover and know freedom in a way never possible be-
fore. This is love lifting us up and transforming us into who
we really are, not who we want or need ourselves to be. Who
are you? A special, unique child of God who has been fash-
ioned in God’s image, sustained by the power of God’s love
and kept eternally with the Blessed Trinity in heaven. Get to
know this deeper, truer self as it is who you really are.
