Services: Library Facilities Each library offers
individual study carrels, and group study rooms.
At Bronfman we have a Silent Study Room, lounge area, and a study space near our current journals section.
All the York libraries provide guest computer workstations.
Services: Photocopying & Printing
Library computer workstations are connected to printers, located in the libraries
Guest photocopy/printing cards can be purchased at the libraries for $5 each ($2 for the card, plus $3 worth of money is deposited on the cards).
You can add more money to the card.
The print/photocopying charge is 10per page for black-and-white, and for printing, and 25 cents for colour. .

Use the catalogue to search for any item in library’s collection: Print books and eBooks Print journal titles and eJournal titles Government documents Videos Access to databases
Library Catalogue
Browse search: Use if you know the Title or Author of the item you are looking for. Searches both print and electronic collections.
Keyword search: Use if you don’t know exactly which item you’re looking for; if you’re
looking for several items on a topic . Search by Keyword, Title, Author, Subject, etc. Searches
both the print and electronic collections.
Title Quick Search: If you know the title of the item you are looking for (i.e. book or
eBook title, journal or eJournal title, etc.). Be sure to select “eResources” for
electronic items, and “Catalogue” for print items.
Library Catalogue: Effective Searching
Use truncation symbols where appropriate to find relevant variants on a word flavo$, teen$; brand$
Avoid natural language but use “and” and “or” to search:
“and” is used for combination of distinctive concepts and has effect of narrowing search target groups and marketing new product$ and health food$
“or” is used to combine synonyms or like terms and broadens search nike or adidas statistics or data HD or high definition
Library Catalogue Print materials are arranged by Call Number.
Locate the item’s catalogue entry (example below), write down the call number, and find the book on the shelf.

SEDAR - Provides access to documents filed by public companies and mutual fund groups with Canadian securities regulatory authorities. Filings from 1997 to present are available. http://www.sedar.com/
EDGAR - The US Security and Exchange Commission's database of public company information including 10k reports for public traded companies. http://www.sec.gov/edgar.shtml
Online Resources: Company Information
Globe Investor: www.globeinvestor.com/ Company information for companies listed on the major
Canadian and US stock exchanges. Includes stock data, charting capabilities, financial ratios
(including beta), and comparable companies.
Yahoo Finance: finance.yahoo.com/ News and general business information US and Canadian company profiles, charts, historical data,
performance reports, identifies competitors, etc.
