Classic FDM + ERPi

Previously, EPM included:

Classic FDM (Hyperion Data Management) is general data integration tool to integrate from various sources to Essbase/EPM apps

ERPi is another data integration tool that is designed directly for integrating data/metadata from ERP system (eBS, PPsoft,SAP..) to EPM apps using ODI.

From 11.1.2.3, classic FDM and ERPi are replaced by FDMEE (FDM Enterprise Edition)

Function: Include both Classic FDM and ERPi functions

Interface: use classic FDM interface

Engine: use ODI running behind the scene.

Integrate data/metadata from various sources: ERP systems Oracle relation database File

Drill through from the EPM target application to view mapped data and open source file or view data in the ERP source system

Write-back budget data to the source system from any Oracle Hyperion Planning, Oracle Essbase ASO, or Essbase BSO application

Improved performance – improved data load performance using ODI engine

Open FDMEE

Cofiguration System setting

Where all the file, logs during integration process… stored

Click here to create application folder at the path below

Register Source System with the File type

Register Target Application as BWPLN application

This table is to map Dimensions in target Application to defined columns in FDMEE table

Here we choose this Planning app as target

Define import format of the source

After saving, the mapping table will display here as the next slide

Define import format of the source

Specify the Source column with the relevant order in the source text file

Define location

Define Period mapping

Define Category mapping

Define Data Load rule: change the Location

Choose the defined location, Period, Category you want to load data

Define Data Load rule from the data source to FDMEE table

Select the text file containing data (Slide 10)

Define Data Load Mapping

This step is to define the mapping detail at the member level from FDMEE table to Hyperion Planning app.

There are five types of member mappings:•Explicit—The source value is matched exactly and replaced with the target value.•Between—The range of source values is replaced with one target value.•In—Enables a list of nonsequential source accounts to be mapped to one target account.•Multi-Dimension—Target value is assigned for a combination of source segment/chartfields.•Like—The string in the source value is matched and replaced with the target value.As our scenario is just mapping 1 to 1 with exactly the same member name (e.g. mapping Headcount to Headcount, NAVessel to NAVessel) we use Like type of mapping

* to * means map every SFI member from the source to the SFI member in target with exactly the same name

Import from text file to FDMEE

Replace: data from text file will replace all available dataimported to FDMEE previouslyAppend: data from text file will append after available data imported to FDMEE previously

This status informs that imported data validated successfully

Load data from FDMEE to BWPLN

This status informs that data already load into Planning app successfully
