FIQH OF SALAHThe Friday Prayers

Abu Huraira reported Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon

him) as saying: We who are the last shall be the first on the Day of

Resurrection, except that every Ummah was given the Book before us and we were given it after them.

It was this day which Allah prescribed for us and guided us to

it and the people came after us with regard to it, the Jews

observing the next day and the Christians the day following that.

Verse from Surah al Jumuah

Friday is a special day for Muslims. Many of us say that all days are equal as all are being created by Allah. True, but still, Friday is special, it has its own merits. Refer to following hadith:

Abu Hurairah (RA) narrated that Allah’s Messenger (PBUH) said, “The best day on which the sun rises is Friday; on it Adam (AS) was created; and on it, he descended on earth; and on it, his repentance was accepted; and on it, he died; and on it, the Hour will be established…..”

Conditions:

Other conditions:

• Must be held in a dwelling community; at least 40 people Prayer of those in desert or villagers isn’t considered Friday

• Should be performed at the time of Zuhr prayer

• Prayer should be held in one place in a town

Two integrals of Friday prayer

1- 2 sermons with gap (standing)

2- Sermons should be during the time of Zuhr prayer

3-Must be in Arabic

4-Delivered in Purity

Integrals of Sermons

1- Praising Allaah

2- Sending Salaat on the Prophet

3- Enjoining Good

4- Reciting at least one ayah (in one of the sermons)

5- Duaa for believers in the 2nd

Whoever comes late and attends at least one raka’ah then he has attended the prayer

If he doesn’t catch the 2nd raka’ah…

If the Imam has to leave due to some reason…

Arriving early

Abu Huraira reported Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) as saying:

When it is Friday, the angels stand at every door of the mosque and record the people in the order of their arrival, and when the Imam sits (on the pulpit for

delivering the sermon) they fold up their sheets (manuscripts of the Qur’an) and listen to the mention (of Allah). And he

who comes early is like one who offers a she-camel as a sacrifice, the next like

one who offers a cow, the next a ram, the next a hen, the next an egg.
