• At this very moment over 10.000 airplanes in the air worldwide

• Carrying an average >1 million people in the air

• Schiphol itself >1500 movements a day

• Should we be ashamed?

• Individual consideration?

• Pros and Cons to consider

• Fresh food that can’t be transported by ship

• Vegetables

• Fruit

• Quick availability of spare parts

• Warehousing would cost too much space

• Warehousing would cost too much money

• Cheaper!

• Present economy needs fast deliveries

• Use of scarce commodities

• Polution

• Noise
