OverviewKoch Modular Process Systems (KMPS) is a joint venture with Koch-Glitsch LP, one of the world's most prominent suppliers of mass transfer equipment. Koch-Glitsch's parent company is Koch Industries, one of the largest privately held corporations in the United States.

For over 20 years KMPS has successfully designed and constructed mass transfer systems for the worldwide Chemical Processing Industry. Our customer’s rely upon KMPS for our quality products and technical expertise.

Modular Construction: Scope of Supply

Pre-fabricated to the maximum extent possible:

All equipment, piping, instrumentation, electrical, controls, insulation and safety systems fabricated and pre-installed within structural steel frames.

System is constructed off-site and shipped via roadway.

Modular Construction: Constraints

As the modules are shipped via roadway, height, length, width and weight on truck constraints exists.

General constraints to facilitate transportation:

Modular system footprint : 12’ x 14’

Modular system height: 70’ – 80’

Modular system weight: Less than 50 tons *Greater system heights and weights can be transported, but generally represent step changes in transportation costs and permitting challenges.

Given the modular system structural steel frame size limitations presented above:

The maximum equipment (column, reactor, heat exchanger) diameter that readily fits within a module, allowing for adequate maintenance and operations access is nominally 6’-0”.

The following slides present the multiple hybrid approaches wherein modular construction may be utilized for various equipment sizes and process applications.

Tradition Modular Construction: All equipment and piping readily accommodated within the confines of the structural steel frames.

Modular Construction Hybrid: Combination of freestanding column and nominal 120’ columns penetrating vertically beyond the structural steel frames.
