A Message from Mr. Levin

Welcome Back!

Thanks to the parents who attended our Open House and

Picnic. We look forward to keeping parent involvement going

strong throughout the school year. Regular attendance is

crucial to academic success, so please encourage your child to

come to school every day on time. Our school day starts at

7:40 a.m. and ends at 1:10 p.m.

Also, in an effort to reduce paper, newsletters will only be

emailed for the remainder of the year. Please contact us to

request a hard copy or to update your email address.

Reminder: Parent Teacher conferences will be held Nov. 17th.

Our Yankee Candle fundraiser continues through

October 9th. Proceeds benefit our Student Activity

Fund which helps subsidize many of our field trips

and events held throughout the year.

GRADE 9 STUDENTS REMINDER

A physical examination by your physician is

mandatory to enter Grade 10.

Do not wait to schedule your

appointment.

You will NOT be allowed into Grade 10 without

a completed Health Assessment Form.

PSAT

Wednesday, Oct. 19th

Sophomores and Juniors will be taking

the PSAT test during school at Alta.

SAT Saturday, Nov. 5th at Southington High

Deadline to register is 10/7/16.

Saturday, Dec. 3rd at Southington High

Deadline to register is 11/3/16.

Staff and students recently visited the Big E.

Mrs. Smith, retired assistant superintendent and

Derynoski principal, has been volunteering at Alta and

has started a book club. Once a month, students will be

reading to kindergarteners at local elementary schools.
