Nutrition Nutrition CollaborationCollaboration
A collective of health practitioners mentoring one another in topics
related to nutrition.
Who, When, Why Anyone who wishes to join –
You select yourself Second Monday each Month 1 - 2pm To share and build understanding of
the common and uncommon knowledge of the practice of nutrition in the care and treatment of ourselves and the patients under our care.
Rules
Share your knowledge with each other.
Competition and knowledge hording only supports lost knowledge. This group endeavors to share knowledge and clinical experience to serve not only ourselves, but all people.
It is asked that we as a group consider:
“If you want to learn something read about it. If
you want to understand something, write about it. If
you want to Master something, teach it.”
Yogi Bhajan
What does this mean? At some point we ask you to present a topic
for presentation to the group. This presentation need only be 30-35 minutes in length with a power point or notes available in Word for the group. You should be able to do a Q&A with the group to follow.
Everyone will be encouraged to participate in the Q&A and it is asked that this become a roundtable type Q&A.
If you chose not to present, that is your decision and you will not be ousted from the group.

Mitochondrial Biogenesis
A nutritional perspective on improved energy, vitality and healing
Stephen Y. Dobelbower, DC DACBN
Krebs Cycle
• Occurs in the inner matrix of the mitochondria
• We cannot run the Krebs cycle without Niacin(B3), Riboflavin(B2), Thiamin(B1) and Pyridoxal 5'-phosphate(B6)
Electron Transport Chain
• Ubiquinone (CoQ10) is necessary to allow the final steps of cellular respiration to create ATP.
How can we support/improve Electron Transport Chain
Function?• CardioPlus (Contains
25mg of CoQ10)– Cataplex G– Cataplex E2– Cataplex C– Cardiotrophin PMG
• Vasculin (Contains 25mg of CoQ10)– Cataplex B– Cataplex E– Cataplex C– Cardiotrophin PMG
What stimulates the production of Mitochondria?
• Sirtuins– Sirtuins or Sirt proteins, are a class of proteins
that have been implicated in influencing aging and regulating transcription, apoptosis and stress resistance. As well as energy efficiency and alertness during low-calorie situations
• Heat Shock Proteins– Heat shock proteins (HSP) sometimes called
stress response proteins are a class of functionally related proteins whose expression is increased when cells are exposed to elevated temperatures or other stress.
How do we stimulate these mitochondria makers?
• Sirtuins• Caloric Restriction• Cardiovascular
exercise particularly aerobic Oxygen carrying capacity is be improved with Cataplex E2 and C
• Resveratrol
• Heat Shock Proteins– Sauna– Cold Laser– Caloric Restriction– Specific nutrients– Infection– Inflammation– hypoxia
