NAME OF THE PHILIPPINES
Las Islas Felipinas - Given by Christopher Villalobos derived from the name of King Philip II of Spain
Provinces were also given Spanish names such as: Neuva Viscaya, Nueva Ecija, La Union, Marinduqe, Valle de Compostela as well as the cities: Las Piñas, Buenavista, San Pablo, San Isidro…etc.
