Strike a Pose for Pink Fashion ShowOctober 15The fashion show starts at 8 p.m. at CJ’s

in Mel’s Lone Star Lanes. All of the runway modelsare cancer survivors and each will be escorted by afirefighter. VIP tickets are $80, which includes a 6 p.m. dinner at CJ’s. General admission is $55. Buy tickets at the door or at Fire Administration at 103 W. Ninth Street.

Pink Heals 5K Run/WalkOctober 22Starts at 8 a.m. at Ninth and Main streets. Awards for the overall male and female winner, and overallmasters winners. Chip timing is optional. Online registration and details at pinkrun.georgetown.org.

Pets in Pink ParadeOctober 22A fun pet parade and costume contest starts at 10 a.m. at the east side of the Williamson CountyCourthouse. The route is one lap around theCourthouse. Register online at pink.georgetown.orgthrough October 19 or register in-person at FireAdministration or at the event.

Chisholm TrailDaysOctober 15The Williamson Museum and theService Club Coalition presentChisholm Trail Days at San GabrielPark on Saturday, October 15. Theevent starts at 9 a.m. with a cowboybreakfast, live music, BuffaloSoldiers, living history camps,chuckwagons, blacksmiths, Westerncrafts, and more. (The chuckwagoncook-off has been replaced with aBBQ cook-off.) Don’t miss theauthentic longhorn cattle drivealong the banks of the scenic SanGabriel River at 4 p.m.

Art Hop 2011Art Hop opens the Month of theArts in Georgetown with a receptionat the Georgetown Public Libraryon the evening of First Friday,October 7. This fourth annual juriedart show is sponsored byGeorgetown Art Works. Pieces inthe show include painting/mixedmedia, photography, and print-making. Prize winners will beannounced at the opening reception.Entries will be exhibited throughOctober. Mobiles in the Art Hopexhibit provided by the TexasSociety of Sculptors will be on display until March 2012.

The National Pink Heals Tourstop on the Courthouse Squareincludes a fire truck parade, pipes and drumsmusic, and program. Sponsors are theGeorgetown Fire Department, the GeorgetownAssociation of Professional Firefighters, andother local fire departments.

Benefit Sales: Pink Heals 2011 T-shirts are forsale for $15 at Visitors Center, GeorgetownChamber of Commerce, and Georgetown firestations. Pink Heals Hope Pennants for $5 and 2012 Pink Heals Calendars for $15 are on sale at Visitors Center or online atpink.georgetown.org. The calendars feature firefighters with women who are participants in the fashion show.

Come out to the Georgetown Airport for the second annual GeorgetownAirfest on October 1 from 10a.m. to 4 p.m. See a group ofSoviet Bloc, Cold War era aircraftincluding an MI-24 Hind Sovietattack helicopter and two Czechmilitary trainer jets—an L-29Delfin and an L-39 Albatross.
