structure gas interconnector Poland – Lithuania (GIPL).

• Both pipelines received in 2014 and 2015 significant grants under the EU's Connecting Europe Facility programme ('CEF').

• Gazprom is reported to reduce gas prices in 2014 and 2015 by 16-22%.

• New long term gas contract is being negotiated now with Gazprom.

Energy should flow freely across the EU – without any technical or regulatory barriers

• connecting markets through interconnections• implementing and upgrading the internal market's

software• enhancing regional cooperation• empowering consumers.

Baltic States electricity synchronisation

• BRELL-ring • Wish of Baltic states to synchronise with Continental

European Network♥ sustained efforts ♥ Commission continue to support the objective♥ Said in "Declaration on Energy Security of Supply of the

Baltic States".

1. Synchronisation with Continental European Network2. Enhanced integration with the Nordic Countries3. Operation of the Baltic States as a self-standing region

• Studies by ENTSO-E, JRC• Working group meeting 30 Oct 2015 (Brussels)

Concrete actions for energy efficiency

• New condensing boilers, save up to €275/y compared to older models.

• reduce EU consumer's energy bills by up to 20%.

• reduce energy imports 480 Mb/y

The upgraded SET Plan is the first R&I deliverable on which the 5th dimension of the Energy Union will be built. They are actions to accelerate the energy system's transformation, ensuring the EU's leadership in the development and deployment of low-carbon energy technologies.

15 September 2015, Commission adopted the new Strategic Energy Technology (SET) Plan.

1. Highly performant REN technologies

2. Reduce the cost of key technologies

3. Smart homes4. Smartness of the energy

system5. New materials for buildings

6. EU industry less energy intensive

7. Battery sector to drive e-mobility forward

8. Sustainable transport solutions

9. CCS & CCU: 10. Safety of nuclear reactors

Thank you for your kind attention
