3rd Place Overall 2012 Nashville East Bank Design Competition Entry
Site: Cayce Place Riverfront, Nashville, TNWe were asked to propse a way to redevelop a por-tion of the Nashville riverfront, near downtown, into a recreational attraction. The site, similar to large stretches of the Nashville’s surrounding riverfront, is currently underused by small industrial plants and warehouses. It is almost entirely industrial and hardscape, but sits within the Cumberland River floodplain; the area was completely submerged in the 2010 Flood in Nashville.
Program:
Accessible sports and recreational facilitiesGreenway connection from downtown to Shelby BottomsRestored wetland (25% of site)
Current site conditions: industrail hardscape Site during the 2010 Flood

Competition Entry 2012 Cleveland Design Competition
Site: Detroit Superior Bridge, Cleveland, OHWe were asked to propose a way to redevelop the entire understory of the Detroit Superior Bridge into a pedestrian recreational space. The lower level of the bridge use to host rails for the city streetcars, and has been decommis-sioned for over a quarter century. Our proposal hopes to embrace and build upon the linearity of the site, creatin
Forest Park Southeast
Site: Forest Park Southeast neighborhood, St. LouisForest Park Southeast is surrounded by a lot of assets. There are 5 schools within a mile radius. Tower Grove Park and the Botanical Gardens are to its immediate South. The neighborhood is surrounded by some of the largest job providers in St. Louis: St. Louis Univ, SLU Medical Center and the Wash. U Medical Center. There are still significant amounts of vacant parcels in the neighborhood, but many are between 20-25’ wide - too narrow for most modern commercial developments. These parcels represent a lot of potential land for affordable housing developments in a solid neighborhood.
ProjectThis is an interdisciplinary project where law, social work, planning and architecture students in graduate and undergraduate programs worked in a group with Habitat for Humanity St. Louis. We were proposing sites and designs for 42 homes for Habitat’s 2013 Build.

2010 Habitat House Design
Given code and offset requirements, even Habitat’s current 2010 design is too wide to fit onto the availible parcels. Thus, I redesigned the Habitat homes, creating a hybrid between the current 2010 design and a traditional St. Louis shotgun house typology.
Program:Outdoor Classroom (1350 sq ft)Growing Space (1100 sq ft)Sports field (5000 sq ft)Native landscape (5000 sq ft)
Site: Patrick Henry Downtown Academy, St. Louis MO
Project:This is a design build studio, where we worked in a team of 16 students. Our cliente is an inner city elementary school, and the goal of our studio was to construct an outdoor, interactive space that will support the school’s goal of becoming a “Green and sustainable” Pilot School. The landscape is also intended to inspire active enthusiasm and learning. Two of my main responsibilities were to manage the completion of the construction documents, and the planting design and selection of the native landscape.
