We use (be) going to to talk about future plans and predictions.

I’m going to work in the USA for three months. (plan)I think it’s going to rain this afternoon. (prediction)

Will

Going to

We can use both will and going to for predictions, but:

Will – when the prediction comes from our own opinion.

I will be a millionaire in the future. Going to – when the prediction is based in a

fact.The show is going to be expensive. They’re

very famous!

We generally use shall in first person (singular – I/ plural – we) when we intend to be formal, and when we offer in questions.

Shall I open the window?We shall finish the meeting at 11:00.
