Teacher: “PadrePiolived38yearsago.Whenhewasachildhecouldseehisguardianangel.HewasaveryspecialchildandgrewuptobecomeaFranciscanmonkandthenapriest.

HelovedJesussomuchthathewantedtobejustlikeChrist.HeprayedandaskedJesustogivehimthesamewoundsthatChristhadonthecross.PadrePioknewJesuslovedhimsomuchthathediedonthecrossforhimandallothers.PadrePioreceivedthestigmata.Hisbloodsmelledlikeflowers.

PadrePiolovedJesussomuchandbecamesoholy,thatGodgavePadrePiomanyspecialgiftsPadrePiocouldbilocateandbeintwoplacesatonetime.Hecouldhealverysickpeoplewithhisprayers.PadrePiohadvisionsofJesus,Mary,andSt.Francismanytimesinhislife.Hecouldalsoseepeople’ssoulsandhelpthemwithconfessions.

TohelpusrememberPadrePiotoday,wearegoingtoputstickersonourhands,feet,andsides.ThiscanhelpusrememberthatJesuslovesussomuchthathesufferedanddiedonthecrossforeachoneofus.AndwecanrememberthatPadrePiolovedJesussomuchthathewantedtobejustlikehim.“

Pass out stickers.

Teacher: “Putonestickeronyourrighthandandsay“ThankyouJesusforlovingmesomuch.Prayforus,PadrePio.”

Each time the children place a sticker on each hand, foot, and side, repeat as a group, “Thank you Jesus for loving me so much. Pray for us, Padre Pio.”

2.GiveeachchildasmallstatueofPadrePioandhavechildplacestatueinglue,standingstatueinthelid.

3.Giveeachchildaboutatablespoonfulofcoloredbeads.Makesurethereisenoughglueinlidtoholdthebeadsinplace.Havechildrenplacebeadsaroundthestatueuntillidisfilledwithbeads.

4.Giveeachchildapaperclipand2ribbons8½incheslong.Havechildrenlineuptheribbonandslidethetwopiecesthroughthepaperclip.Childrenshouldlaythispiecedownonthetableandapplygluewithpaintbrushonfourspotsofthesideofthelid.

5.Encouragechildrentocarefullypickuptheribbon,paperclippieceandgluethefourendsoftheribbontothegluespots.Thiswillbethehangingpartofthedecoration.Theribbonsshouldbegluedsotheydon’tblocktheviewofthestatue.
