Adding posts
Next to the URL you will find an icon if Zotero is recognizing the type of material.
The yellow folder means that Zotero is recognizing several different posts at the webpage
Click on the yellow folder and this window appears.
Choose the posts you would like to import to your library.
Import
There are three other icons which can appear at a webpage

The Icon structure is used in the saved post in your library
A new post can be manually inserted into the collection
Zotero has a long list of different templates depending on the type of material that you will
like to add to your collection.

Installing PDF indexing enables Zotero to make
searches in full-text documents as
articles, reports etc.
This is not activated by default but has to be installed by
each user.

You can add independent notes as well as notes attached to a specific posts.
You can manually attach useful information to a post.

Quick Search,Searches all fields & tags by default, but has a few
alternatives as well.
Advanced search with

It is possible to save a search, and set it up so that Zotero creates a
folder with material that matches your criteria
Sync with Zotero server.Connect and update your account if
you are working on several computers.

View, show and Lookup functions.Shows the file in different versions or matches it to defined search engines
and databases.
Features
Deleting material
You can either delete a post from a specific
folder, keeping the post in the library
Or completely delete the post from the library
Mark the post and right click on your mouse to
enter the menu.
Word and open office
To be able to use Zotero as a tool in Word or Open office, a plug-in has to be installed. You can download it and find more information here:http://www.zotero.org/support/word_processor_plugin_installation_for_zotero_2.1
When installed correctly, it
should look like this in the Cite
menu, in Preferences

When the plug-in is installed, this menu-bar should be visible
in Word

Set Doc Preferences, i.e.
Citation Style
Remove codes
Word
The first time you choose Insert Citation, this window appears
Choose the preferred Citation Style for the document you are working with
Endnotes or Footnotes can also be chosen
You can later on change and try other styles in the Set doc pref.

Next time when you chooose insert citation, the Quick Format Citation
Box will appear
When you start to type in the box, Zotero searches in your library
Quick format citation box
When you have chosen reference you can click on the box and insert page numbers.
Then press enter and the citation will
appear in the text in the preferred style.

When you have finished your document,
Zotero will automatically generate a Bibliography
in the chosen Citation Style
Create Bibliography
Install Citationstyle

Find your preferred style, view the style before installing.
Click on the chosen style and it will instantly be installed to your account
Change Citationstyle
Click on this icon and the Document Preferences
will open.
You can see the styles available, and the new styles
that you have added.
When clicking OK your document update to the new
style.
