1 John 4 11 Beloved, if God so loved us, we ought also to love one another.

John 3 16 For God so loved the world, that He gave His only Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

1 John 2 1 My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin notye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an AdvocateAdvocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the Righteous: 2 And He is the PropitiationPropitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world. 3 And hereby we do knowknow that we know Him, if we keepif we keep His Commandments.

4 He that saith, I know Him, and keepeth not His Commandments, is a liar, and the Truth is not in him. 5 But whoso keepeth His Word, in him verily is the Love of God perfectedperfected: hereby know weknow we that we are in Him. 6 He that saith he abideth in Him ought himself also so to walk, even as He walked.

7-8 Brethren, I write no new Commandment unto you, but an old Commandment which ye had from the beginning. The old Commandment is the Word which ye have heard from the beginning. Again, a new Commandment I write unto you, which thing is true in Him and in you: because the darkness is past, and the True Light now shineth.

The Eternal Commandment -- old and new --

That we love one anotherlove one another,

Was seen firstseen first in JesusJesus as He came to lay lay downdown His life that wewe might have life.

Now, wewe, His disciples, show that love to the world, as we livelive our lives in lovelove one to

another.

1 John 4 9 In this was mani-fested the love of God toward us, because that God sent His only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through Him.

9 He that saith he is in the Light, and hateth his his brotherbrother, is in darkness even until now. 10 He that loveth his brotherhis brother abideth in the Light, and there is none occasion of stumbling in him. 11 But he that hateth his brotherhis brother is in darkness, and walketh in darkness, and knoweth not whither he goeth, because that darkness hath blinded his eyes.

He is talking to spiritualspiritual brothers and sisters,

People already inin the family of God.

People savedsaved from sin and from hell.

He that hates his brother is stillstill walking in darkness,

Or, is not walkingnot walking in the full Light of the Lord.

He lacks an intimate understandingintimate understanding of God the Father and of His Son, Jesus Christ.

To really know God is to love Him whole-heartedly, and to love one another.

10 He that loveth his brother abideth in the Light, and there is none occasion of stumblingnone occasion of stumbling in him.

Matthew 22 37-40 Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great Commandment. And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself. On these two Commandments hang allhang all the law and the prophets.

When we livelive and walkwalk in the Love of God,

we will be keepingbe keeping all of His Commandments.

If I love God as I ought, I will have no desire to break His Heartbreak His Heart by breaking His Word.

If I love people, I will notnot harm them.

To steal is to defy God and to hurt the one I steal from.

Fornication is a sin against God, against the one I lie with, against my family, and church.

To kill is the ultimate act of hatred.

To lie wounds God and His Kingdom, the one to whom I lie, and my own reputation.

The greatest enemyenemy of love is selfself.

If I value myselfvalue myself more than God and more than other people, I will act in my own self-interestmy own self-interest.

What I wantI want is more important than anything theythey might want.

How things affect meaffect me will be my prime consideration in every situation.

My timetime is worth more than theirs.

This mindsetmindset will lead to the breakingbreaking of all of God's God's

CommandmentsCommandments.
